that's an odd sentiment as they put up a combined 16 receptions, 250 yards and 2 touchdowns against lattimore in week 1. both diggs and thielen are (borderline) top 10 receivers in the league and usually one of them is productive, it's tough to stop both.

Devante Harris, you mean.

i think this is the game where keenum finally unravels. the wheels will come completely off on national television :(

It's like everyone is anxiously waiting for the guy to fail.  If Bridgewater ever played this well, it would be nothing but positive encouragement..  Keenum has been outstanding this year, yet even Minnesota fans seem almost giddy about the idea of him falling flat.

Yeah right, the Messiah.  Who has never played anywhere close to the level Keenum has this season...

What is the best secondary Case Keenum has played this year?

He practices against the league's best secondary every day...

Once again, we see the problem with analysis with stats only.  What the numbers leave out are the facts that Bridgewater was playing in a scheme (Norv Turner's) that did not fit with his strengths.  He also had close to the worst offensive line in the league - all five of those linemen were replaced/moved this season.  His receivers didn't really fit in Turner's system either.  Diggs and Thielen are both quick, YAC type of receivers, not deep threats who would excel in Turner's offense.  Finally, Adrian Peterson was our running back in 2015, and he was never all that great at pass protection.  This year, Keenum has had a LOT of advantages that Bridgewater never enjoyed.  Still, the last year (2015) that Teddy started, we won the division and would have won his first playoff game if not for a horrible field goal miss at the end of the game.

Most Viking fans think that, although Keenum has played very well this season, Teddy has a higher ceiling.  The question with him is whether or not he will be able to recover from the horrible knee injury.

lol Stefon Diggs is not even close to a borderline top 10 receiver. Please stop with that narrative. Also, that stat isn't even CLOSE to correct. Lattimore had only allowed 115 yards at week 8, so obviously it's impossible that he allowed 250 in week 1.

People like to just look at a receiver's numbers and think it was all against that corner and not zone/another corner. We also had Harris as a #2 corner (who is now cut...) and not Crawdaddy. Obviously Lattimore has improved as the season's gone on as well. Our secondary is much better since then.

Diggs, the guy who's never had a 1000 yard season and put up 800 yards this year is clearly a top 10 WR though.

Simply reason for that is his past. It takes a long long time to change the narrative on yourself when you are below average for years and years and then all of a sudden you have a career year. Conventional wisdom says it’s a fluke and Keemun drops back down at any point. Obviously that conventional wisdom could be wrong and he’s actually turned a corner but it’s going to take more then one season to convince people of that.

Not trying to really argue with anybody here but...

How does your team match up with big, athletic TE's now, because we use two of them, Rudolph & Morgan?

How does your LB's match up with skat backs, McKinnon?

How do they plan on covering Thielen from the slot? Do they plan on Lattimore to move inside?

Hard to not be a little worried about Diggs and Thielen when one or the other is hiding out in the slot.

Most likely the two outside guys will spend a lot of time on Laquon Treadwell, and Michael Floyd.

As I mentioned on the previous page. I don't think Diggs/Thielen are a big concern for us with Lattimore/Crawley. They very well may just have them shadowed in man coverage most of the game wherever they line up. When we have Vaccaro in the lineup, he's done well covering TE's/Guys like McKinnon. Without him in the lineup, we have had some struggles covering TE's/RB's, so I could see us giving up some big plays to them.

So... has Crawley ever lined up against a guy in the slot?

Seems like an odd fit for him

Yes he has a little bit this year, and last year. Primarily we use Vaccaro/PJ WIlliams in the slot, but Crawley has seen at least 30-40 snaps in the slot since last year.

There's no way the Saints are or should be favorites, going on the road against the best defense in the league.  The game will come down to whether or not the Saints defense can keep the score low, because Saints aren't scoring a lot of points here.

I disagree on your "what the game will come down to"

I think It comes down to if the Vikings defense holds your offense to less than 125% of its normal points given up at home.

With that in hand, Vikings likely control the time of possession, and likely the game.
