I’d really like to see a good ol fullback on the roster. Skins were 2nd to last in 3rd down efficiency, too late in the day to search for 3rd and 1 efficiency but I do remember them lining up Niles Paul back there a couple times and it was embarrassing

Callahan doesn’t use fullbacks, he uses 2 and 3 TE sets. When the Redskins signed Vernon Davis it was basically a replacement of Darrel Young who used to be our fullback and was effective in Gruden’s offense in 2014, the year before Callahan was hired in 2015.

The

Washington Redskins will host free agent defensive lineman Johnathan Hankins as well as corner Orlando Scandrick, per multiple sources. The latter will visit Monday; it's believed Hankins will be at Redskins Park at that time as well. Both players were released by their respective teams, with Hankins being let go by Indianapolis Saturday afternoon.

The Redskins want to improve their defensive line and made an offer to Muhammad Wilkerson before free agency started. Wilkerson signed with Green Bay, which offered more guaranteed money than Washington. The Redskins have been reluctant to pay more money for players who are older, though Wilkerson is only 28 and Sheldon Richardson only 27. However, one source said their favored age range to pay bigger money would be 25; Hankins turns 26 later this month.

Allen and Matt Ioannidis played well together early last season before injuries hit. Allen ended up playing only five games because of a Lisfranc tear. The Redskins want more depth, someone who can help stop the run but also push the pocket to help the edge rushers.

...that's why they'd be interested in Scandrick as well. He asked for his release from Dallas earlier in the week. Scandrick has started 69 games in his career while also playing the slot earlier in his career.

Injuries have hindered him the last three years; he missed all of 2015 with a torn ACL and MCL and had to sit out a combined nine games the last two years. He missed five games last year with a back injury. He was second-team All-Pro in 2014, the same year he was suspended two games for violation of the NFL's policy on substance abuse.

In regards to Johnathan Hankins...my guess is that if we do end up signing him, it'll be a 1 year prove it deal. He's only 25 and is probably still looking to cash in on a big contract....and we know the Redskins would be unwilling to do that.

You’re probably right, but I think it’s a mistake if they do that. I’d love to see us give him a deal like the Colts gave him last year which was a 3-year deal worth $27 million and all the money was guaranteed in the first year. That essentially gave the Colts a team option to keep him or cut him this year or next year. If we could do something like that and he’d agree, we should. I wish we had done that last year w/ him.

Actually would kick the tires on Murray . Callahan familiar with him and I feel as if Murray still had some life left .

we can than go into the draft and focus on guard and DL.

If we sign Hankins I don’t see Dline as a first round need.

Agreed. If we sign Hankins to anything more than a 1 year deal, than I would like to see Denzel Ward/Quenton Nelson/Derwin James/Minkah Fitzpatrick.

Pipe dreams tho...

Or trade back and take a Guard or RB while picking up another pick.

or Marcus Davenport cause I think he’s awesome.

Lots of options.

They're paying Norman $20M and they have faith in Dunbar starting on the other side. They have Moreau and Holsey and DRC will most likely sign here.  I can't imagine them spending the 13th pick on a corner.  I could see them going with James if he's even still available but ultimately I think it ends up being Guice.  Especially if Hankins signs here long term. There'd be no need to go NT in the draft at all if Hankins is here.
