Seriously .. what would the 49ers have to give up for Rodgers?  Players and picks maybe?

I think after the tampering there is no way that they trade Aaron there. Not to mention I think other teams will be able to put together better packages.

Don't think Familyghost was goofing around though.  They are going to need a qb but if any other team offers equal or more for Rodgers he won't be going to them or any NFC team.

That's what it's gonna come down to, SF would have to find a high buyer on Lance in order to get the capital to land Rodgers.

It will be easier for others to offer a better and more certain package that GB will like.

Could Lance be a part of the package? He'd be cheap for us as they paid the SB. Although do we actually want him?

Patrick Mahomes' father told @ParkinsSpiegel that the #Bears told Mahomes that they were going to draft him at number 3 overall in 2018. He thought he was going to be a Bear. "Once they traded up and got Mitch (Trubisky) it kind of hurt him. It really did."

The Bears. The gift that just keeps giving.

Cursed.....

Adam Schefter -  49ers QBs:

🏈Brock Purdy has a torn ulnar collateral ligament that will sideline him six months.

🏈Jimmy Garoppolo suffered a broken foot in December and is now a free agent.

🏈Trey Lance fractured his fibula and had ligament damage that required two surgeries on his ankle.

David Payne Purdum -   Super Bowl LVII at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, will be the first NFL championship to be played at a venue with a legal sportsbook on the premises.

.@BetMGM operates a sportsbook on the State Farm Stadium campus.

The times, they are a-changin'.

I doubt we would want lance. Love is Gute's guy. Love it or hate it I think he wants him to be the starter. As for San Fran, I think it would have to be an amazing block buster offer for the Packers to do business with them.

We've been developing Love for 3 years.  He's going to get first crack at the starting gig.  Doesn't hurt if SF wants to throw in Lance as part of the trade.  Same with Wilson and the Jets.  If Rodgers is gone we'll need another QB anyway.  Yah SF would have to part with some players/picks be one of the last teams the Packers would want Rodgers to go to.  But look at this way.  It will take the Packers a few years to get back to contention maybe longer.  By then Rodgers will be retired so who cares?  Take the best offer from any team outside of the division that Rodgers is willing to play for.  Way I see it.

And I don’t think the 9ers will be able to offer the best deal anyways.

there are too many afc teams with high-ish picks for Green Bay to consider. I am sure when this stuff kicks off GB will say NFC is a no go.

The only way I can see them competing with the AFC teams is of they get a haul in return for Lance, then send it and more to us.

Honest question, what is Lance worth at this point? Year two and he did not look the part at all on the field. Any acquiring team is going to be looking for him to be the starter. Would you as a GM be confident with what you've seen that he can be the starter next year?

None of us have seen him enough to really know his value.

We saw him play in a few preseason games and then Chicago, right?  And it didn't look good.

But Mr. Irrelevant comes in and looks very good.

With our limited data?  He's certainly worth our 3rd round pick.  Maybe even the next two 3rd round picks that we have.

That's the issue. In order to have a seat at the Rodgers trade table, they need to get at least a top 25 first round pick (and prepare to overload on future picks).

He didn't look good, had a nasty injury that can linger and has no meaningful tape. Jim Irsay is still an NFL owner so never say never, but I think they're going to go with Brady and let Lance and Purdy heal up and try in 2024.
