Yeah, I imagine they'll be able to move some other money around, like dealing with Kyle and Thielen...It's also quite possible that they could save some minor money by extending Mackensie and/or Anthony Harris.

I'd rather not if it he's going to get anything similar to what he was paid last year.

Agreed, seems there is other interest as well. I'm not counting on him coming back with some of those other teams in play. If we could get him for an APY of under $3M (I think that is roughly what he made last year per OTC) that would be ideal.

I wouldn't go over $1.5m if we knows he's a backup at best.

Makes a lot of sense IMO. Hopefully bumps one of our projected comp picks out and gives us a 5th. Pay that man his money!!

It seems unlikely that any free agent that hasn't been signed by now will be signing a contract that would be at the 5th round compensatory level. That would be something over $6M APY.

The best the team will get is another count on their net loss which is currently at five. A net loss over four is only helpful to account for future transactions as 4 is the maximum number of picks a team can be awarded.

Yup, I understand all that. However, the Raiders do have the money to shell out. I'm just banking/hoping on the previous Guenther connection and Gruden's affinity for veteran players.

Here's all the FA safety deals from 2019:

I could see him slotting in above $6M (Vaccaro/Cyprien/Quinn) but as you said the timing probably doesn't work in our favor. He could very well sign a cheaper 1-year prove it deal again.
