The Often Overbearing, But Otherwise Ordinary Offensive Line

Cleveland may have been a better run blocker, but I don't think I'm wrong in saying that the O-Line has been playing better as a unit with Risner on the field. At least from the eye-test level. Of course, that's coincided with Ingram learning not to tackle the Quarterback.

He's back...

On Tuesday, the Vikings released wide receiver Daylen Baldwin and used that spot to re-sign offensive lineman Henry Byrd to the practice squad.

The Vikings had initially signed Byrd to the practice squad after final cuts when he was waived by the Denver Broncos. He was on the practice squad until November fourth when he was waived in a fleury of roster moves.

The Vikings brought him back to the practice squad after trimming down from five to four wide receivers. They are also a little thin on the offensive line due to the injuries suffered by Brian O’Neill, Ed Ingram and Dalton Risner.

Byrd likely won’t be elevated at all, but his presence will help the team in practice.

O’Connell thinks Ed Ingram could soon return. The starting right guard was questionable going into Week 14, so a return in Week 15 wouldn’t be particularly surprising. One good thing is simply that Blake Brandel played well in relief of the RG1, which is a sentiment that O’Connell shares.

The offensive line depth has been a real bright spot this year, suprisingly. Brandel and Schlottman have been very serviceable.
