That's assuming he wants to be a backup. He may have played himself into a starting role, if not in MN, somewhere else. But this is more of a longterm assessment, things could obviously change by the time he's a FA.

Then he’ll have to wait until 2020 to likely get that chance. 

And I’m hoping we have two long term guards in place by then.

Latavius Murray and Jerick McKinnon have made for a top-10 running game this year. They took care of business on Thursday, combining for 139 yards on the ground  – marking the eighth time the Vikings have cleared 100 yards on the ground.
