Is Dan Snyder the worst owner in the NFL?

it seems like he is really bad at running a football time. we are consistently a laughing stock. the stadium is poo. we had a joke in vinny cerato for years as GM and now we have someone almost as bad. we usually have losing seasons. im sure some of you will name the browns owner but i think dont think the browns would have boggled the cousins situation.

Snyder up there for sure

Mike Brown in Cincy- how can Marvin Lewis keep the job without winning a playoff game?

Haslem- thoughts on him might change after this draft

Jim Irsay- Andrew Luck and no one else going into his 6th year

Stephen Ross- kept Jeff Ireland forever. Loved Joe Philbin while team collapsed around him. Now has Mike Tannebaum running the show.

Couple more I can’t think of off hand

well the bengals have made it to the playoffs a lot and are consistently pretty good

browns are on the up and actually have done a true rebuild which we refuse to do

irsay has gotten luck who has been unfortunate with injuries. he still isnt the worst

ross hasnt done well but i dont see the drama that we have.

I don’t think we can say the Browns are on the up until they actually do something. One win in two years is horrific.

Snyder isn't great, but not the worst either. Probably in the middle.

Rather have Snyder over Browns, Jets, Colts, Dolphins, Chargers, Raiders, Bucs, Bears, Lions & Niners owners.

Browns...easily the worst. How do you keep a coach who goes 1-31?

They'll suck this draft too. Whomever they draft, will undoubtedly not transform the Browns to greatness.

Seriously, How does a team with all their draft picks of late, suck that bad?

They make Snyder & Bruce Allen look like Eddison & Tesla!

Just going to address this one, because I don’t think Irsay or Brown is the worst. And others have already hit on the fact that the Browns have won 10 less games than any other team in the entire league in the 5 full years of Haslam’s ownership. Less than half as many as the Redskins. They’re not on the upswing until they actually win a few games and turn their “rebuild” into something other than the worst three season span in NFL history.

But you really think the Dolphins don’t have the “drama” that the Redskins have? Just a quick list of some of their issues since Ross took over:

  • Ross flies to Cali to try to lock up Jim Harbaugh — while Tony Sparano is still their head coach. Fails to sign Harbaugh, news of attempt is leaked, gives Sparano an extension as an “apology” (2010)
  • Revealed that team asked Dez Bryant if his mother is a prostitute and whether she “still does drugs,” among other offensive pre-draft interview questions.

  • Sparano caught on video begging referees to review TD “or else I’ll be fired.” Puts house up for sale two days later, remains coach for 7 more weeks until being fired due to “job security rumor” distractions (2011)

  • Fans organize protest outside stadium and rent plane to fly banners over the game urging Ross to fire GM Jeff Ireland (2011)

  • Jonathan Martin/Richie Incognito bullying scandal breaks. Martin refuses to return to the team and Incognito is suspended and eventually released. Other players and coaches are implicated (2013)

  • Bill to fund $400M renovations to Dolphins’ stadium killed by local government prior to voting. Dolphins engage in highly public blame game with local politicians. Rumors of relocation persist to this day (2013)

  • Brent Grimes’s wife repeatedly incites controversy by torching the organization and especially QB Ryan Tannehill on Twitter

  • 1st round pick Laremy Tunsil involved in controversial hacking/leak of video where he is smoking pot in a gas mask and text messages where he is (illegally) asking for money from Ole Miss AD (2016)

  • Major FA signing LB Lawrence Timmons goes AWOL before season opener, after having showed up at Steelers practice and telling people he should never have left. Finally found at the airport in LA, telling authorities he just wants to go home to Pittsburgh (2017)

  • Video is released of OL coach Chris Foerster doing a line of coke immediately before entering a team meeting. Eventually it is revealed that he was doing coke regularly and sent the video to the Vegas “model” with whom he was cheating on his wife of 30+ years

  • Sparano lasted two years as HC under Ross before being fired. He was followed by Joe Philbin, who was fired after 3+ seasons, and 12 games under interim HC Dan Campbell. Current HC Adam Gase is now entering his third season and finds himself on the hottest of seats.

  • Bill Parcells was in charge of personnel when Ross took over as full owner, but he stepped down in September of Ross’s first season. Jeff Ireland lasted four highly controversial and embattled seasons as GM under Ross before finally being fired. Dennis Hickey took over as GM, but was fired after just two seasons — likely pushed out by Mike Tannenbaum, who was brought in after Hickey’s first season to “work with” Hickey. Chris Grier was installed as GM after Hickey’s departure and is entering his third season

Man that was a good read.

Going back and putting together that list of controversies and scandals and ineptitude was kinda cathartic xD made me feel a little better about the Redskins, at least. If all we’ve got during that period of time is the Cousins mess and OffthewagonGate, we’re not even in their league drama-wise!

Incidentally, they’ve only got one playoff game and one season outside of the 6-8 win mediocrity zone since Ross took over in 2010, so they’re basically the Redskins in a warmer climate.

To be fair, that happened (right) before Tunsil was a Dolphin. The mask video was the reason he was available to the Dolphins during the draft; otherwise, he was likely going to be a top 5 pick.

I haven't followed this guy's career.  Is he any good?
