Day 2 Draft Player Wish List

Mind Character

Recommended Posts

After further thought, here are all the guys, by position rather than in a numbered list, that I would be excited to take with these first couple picks:

DT - Maurice Hurst
DE - Harold Landry
RB - Derrius Guice
WR - Courtland Sutton, Anthony Miller
C - James Daniels
TE - Dallas Goedert
CB - Isaiah Oliver
OT - Brian O'Neill

And then guys I might not be excited about, but would approve of:

DT - Nathan Shepherd, Harrison Phillips
DE - Ogbonnia Okoronkwo, Sam Hubbard
RB - Royce Freeman, Ronald Jones
WR - Christian Kirk, Michael Gallup
OG - Will Hernandez
OT - Connor Williams
CB - Josh Jackson,

End of the 2nd targets:

OT - Chukumwa Okorafor, Tyrell Crosby, Jamarco Jones, Desmond Harrison
WR - Daesean Hamilton, Tre'Quan Smith, Auden Tate
DE - Duke Ejiofor, Lorenzo Carter
DT - Tim Settle, RJ Mcintosh, PJ Hall
RB - Nick Chubb

any thoughts on Lorenzo Carter?

Mold behind Collins and let him rush the passer then eventually take over for Collins?

I honestly like all his physical traits, his effort on 99% of plays, and his scheme diverseness. Depending on how he responds to coaching, nutrition, and weight training, he could start out being a 3rd down specialist at Edge but develop so much more. I'd rather have him in the 2nd Round than Marcus Davenport at #14 if they were going with a pass rush project.

Great take. Do you like him more than Landry, assuming Landry's medical checks out? Those are the only two defensive ends Is really like us to be considering (well, maybe Tyquan or Hubbard if they fall to the 4th).

I'm not a fan of Nick Chubb simply because of the fact that he has toothpicks for legs, is stiff hipped, and what are called loose ACLs and poor leg strength... in 4 games I've seen his both his knees get hyper-extended while making routine cuts... that with his ACL tear and other ligament injries makes me want to pass on him because I don't think he ever makes it through full seasons if he ever gets a work load...

Passing on Guice for Chubb for personality reasons would be insane as their film is in different stratospheres..

I actually thought he had the second most impressive lower body next to Barkley, and I also thought he regained a lot of explosiveness he lost when he was injured (evident in his runs on film/testing)

Agree.

Now what are your thoughts on John Kelly? Further down the board obviously not at #33

I get the injury concerns but disagree about Chubb as a player. He has elite vision, bounces off tackles, and is probably a more versatile player than Guice. I like Guice more if you factor in the injury questions but think you’re really slighting Chubb. I think he may be more of a late 2-3 guy, but with the likely run of RBs, I would not have a problem with him at 35 if they’re comfortable with his meds.

yeah..I didn't make any comments about Chubb the player... I like him a lot... it's all about injury concerns to me...

Landry is a tough one to project for me. He's got elite body leverage use on the pass rush, and the hips to turn the corner quick as a cricket, but he doesn't have the arm length and amazing hand usage that someone like Chubb has. He's perhaps a better pass rush specialist than Carter out of the box, but I think he's got limitations on the kind of pro he can develop into.

I'm talking about from the lower thigh and knee down.. not his quads/thighs... I watched a lot of his games his knees joints are unstable both of them.. he can't sustain a lot of contact because of this... he's a great athlete... and recovered well from the injury, but he's clearly not the same and diminished... i just don't trust what I see with his knee and hip stiffness and knee instability in both knees... in 10 games watched I noted 4 knee hyperextension on routine cuts and 7 times he had to be subbed out holding his knee... most of which was before the knee injury (a good amount after as well).

The only thing I don't like about his game is he's not a great creator and he doesn't have the balance or movement ability to cross the formation laterally

I'm fan of his film, but I don't think he gives us any impact value more than Duke Johnson... it would be a redundancy and one in which Duke is a far superior player...

The only change of pace in terms of versatility or star impact ability would be Derrius Guice or maybe Kerryion Johnson (Todd Haley will see a lot of Leveon Bell in him)

1

This I was open to Guice until I listened to him speak

Kerryon is classy seems to have good character and deff shows the type of patience that Bell does

We always have a high 2nd round pick (sometimes 2).  Every year, I pick my favorites based on who's left on the board.  Every year, the Browns don't pick any of them.  This year, I'm not gonna list my favorites.  Change of pace.

Hopefully, it's a TJ Ward moment.  HATED that pick, but he was a good player.
