I wouldn't be surprised to see them keep only 5 LBers and have Peppers line up there in certain packages.  Opening up another spot for more depth at a different position.

Pryor could be used at LB as well if he makes the roster so it would certainly make sense to use he and Peppers in that role in order to get someone else on the 53.

So I made a point earlier to say that Zane Gonalez could be a surprise cut, which I'm ready to walk back from....

1 - most recently Zane has started to trend upward while Parkey has faltered ever so slightly (I saw a stat that in a recent practice Zane went 5/5 and Parkey went 3/5). Before that, all I had seen was Parkey consistently beating Zane, but now if it's at all close, Zane will clearly get the nod.

2- I just found this article quantifying why Roberto Aguoyo should have been predicted to be a poor kicker in the NFL (i.e. his overall completion % hid the fact that he was a consistent under-performer on kicks of 40+yds)... there is one nugget at the end that shows Zane scored 9.42 earned points above expectation on kicks of 40+yards last year (you have to read the article to get the gist of what exactly this means) , which means he basically would have been placed third best in '16 translated to the NFL. Granted, I don't have similar numbers to compare to Parkey, but the figures do bear out that Zane should be expected to be one of the best pretty early on in his career. It's almost like the Browns front office knew this before they drafted the kid....

I just hope that we keep the right kicker, they can win and lose a lot of games for the team.  Regarding Aguoyo, talk about over drafting!  A kicker should never be drafted in the 2nd.  I realize that the GOAT kicker was drafted in the first, even with such a stellar career, I would not have even drafted him in the 2nd.

The Bucs just really handled that situation. They basically gave him the job last year and than brought in competition this season.  They should of brought vet competition last year when he was a rookie. Someone to learn from and push him.

Thanks....how did you amend the posting issue...lol

I trying to figure this thing out...it's a lot harder to post pictures and media on here it seems

...I tried to post this gif not to show "Myles Garrett is a baller," but what I have been saying since the draft "after watching 6 games of Rod Johnson...he's a bum and has the worst contact balance I've seen in a while."  He did well against Harold Landry at times b/c Landry is a one speed one move rusher. However, as I noted then Johnson can not deal with any redirection and is a crazy waist bender..

He's not struggling because it's myles garrett...he's struggling b/c he's garbage in terms of OL play.

1st play; he gets beat inside soundly and waist bends...this play would get the QB killer or end in a knee hit on the QB.

Second play is like I said earlier today even before seeing this....any counter move after he's set one way....his contact balance makes him end up on his rear end.

Cam Erving has tremendous foot balance and quickness in terms of Tackle play. His issues are that he oversets and loses his base (he narrows his feet) on contact and lunges. This results in the ugly stuff we see from time to time. But he can get to a spot with great athleticism and he can anchor with very flexible hips. His overtsetting and ducking his head issue can be corrected based on repetitions.

That's why I'm not rleady to give up on cam as I think he can still be a serviceable RT due to his athleticism and foot quickness. I watched the all22 of the saints game...it really wasn't that bad except for those glaring plays.

There's nothing on the planet that can help rod johnson and the stilts he walks on.

He's going to get Osweiler hurt...and I really don't want him in the game when Kizer's in...I'm going to be cringing every snap if that's the case. Johnson against the Giants pass rush 1st team....sack and sack and sack...

Also it has nothing to do with Florida State at all....just coincidence.

That article is by a poster on here (who doesn't post much anymore because he's a professional sports writer). So props to him, and everyone know that if your FF posts are good enough... yeah never mind.

If Cam Erving has a zip code that starts with a 4 anytime after Sept 2 - we need to exhume the body of Eliot Ness to investigate.

I'm hoping that Seattle gets desperate enough to trade for him after their LT went down.

I'm also hoping that we don't all die in a nuclear winter.

So far, so good.

Content is content.  Good or bad.

jmosq is an example of good.  "Force players" is a really interesting and useful metric.

Yep. Force Players is awesome. I've liked his stuff on team regression based on record in one-score games too. And his team previews are good stuff. If anybody likes podcasts, he and Charles McDonald do one called Setting the Edge which is really good.

He really hadn't offered anything so far in the preseason. Probably a fair cut, though I was hoping he would return to form this year for us, he was on of my favourite players of the last few years, he had given us good interior pass rush.

Classy ove by the Browns by letting him have a shot at making the team, and by cutting him before cuts so he may a have a better shot of making another team.

I guess it means Branley sticks on the team and Meder as well.

Shelton, Conley, Larry O, Brantley, Meder.
