It's really not an attractive location for bunch of millionaires in their mid to late 20's or early 30's. I forget the exact percentage stat, but it was them and Bengals who were 1 and 2 with the highest percentage of their roster that they gave second contracts to. Usually if you're drafted by them they're going to try to keep you your entire career because very few players are trying to leave to live in Wisconsin. Rodgers loves WI, he became a resident, became an owner of the Bucks and is a routine attender of Badgers basketball games throughout the season. Even in the off-season he splits time between here and Cali. Siberia thing was in the 70s and 80s, the whole nightlife thing becomes pretty irrelevant when you're playing winning football for 26 years. Sure we'll never win a bidding war for an OBJ kind of guy, who cares. White, Woodson, Peppers, Graham, we can get vets to come here.

Tend to get a longer leash when you get one of those. Possibly the most overrated HC in decades! No, the most overrated were Mike Shanahan and Jeff Fisher. Yeah the 13th winningest coach (by win%) with at least 100 games of all time, and 3rd winningest active coach who gets **** on by everyone is the exact opposite of "overrated" ? Yeah Two HOF QB, tend to help with that. If he was 1/2 the HC as those numbers indicate, he'd have multiple SB by now. If anything his poor play calling, mismanagement of the clock has held Rodgers and the Packers back. Rodgers makes McCarthy not the other way around. A head coach who doesn't win a Super Bowl will probably be canned within a decade. Damn my eyes are burning from reading that fire.

Now, let's discredit these guys for having multiple HOFers other than QB. Gibbs had at least 4 during his tenure, Parcells had the greatest defensive player ever. It's almost like using an argument of "coach had good players and therefore isn't good" is, like, impossible to separate out because all successful coaches had good players... Once that goes, free agents might become more sparse in terms of wanting to go there.
TecmoSuperJoe
I'm indifferent to McCarthy as head coach, but I will say that it has been his failing at keeping Dom Capers employed for so many years, when it was clear that the Packers defense after the 2010 season dropped off significantly, and hasn't been the same since. Capers just left, but there was a 7 year odyssey following the Super Bowl where defensive play was largely lackluster.

There was a combined: bad injury luck, bad execution, bad coaching, lack of talent, ST gaffe, etc. That lead to failures to win another SB. GBs defense was damn good in 2014, for example.
