Whicker Posted March 14, 2019 Share Posted March 14, 2019 I guess I'd like to throw my name in to host a game sometime soon. It's a reboot of my Civilization mafia game, so it's an open setup. I think conversions are tricky in general. I like the fact that this method (convert finds out leader but cannot out him) was tried, but I personally don't like the "if you claim this you will be modkilled" restriction. In general, I dislike putting restrictions on what a player can and can't say; Mafia works best when players are able to converse unencumbered (except of course attempting to go for their win condition). Conversions are kind of a mess, especially from scum to town. The only way I'd really advise it is if the converted isn't told who their new partners are. Several types of conversions really Reverse conversions are interesting in concept, but the problem is now that person knows things.. Tough to do I like mafia having 1 conversion, under a very specific set of circumstances (such as this game) Cultist conversions can be fun, but they have become WAAAY too common around here.
