Mind you Lawrence was a true freshman and Murray was a RS JR. Murray had a tough game against Bama and came back late after taking some huge hits but his completion percentage was much worse and his effectiveness game long was worse in a loss. Now if Lawrence gets worse the more he plays sure but one would assume he will get better than when he played as a true freshman in college. And yeah Lawrence would have easily been picked over Kyler was last season if he could have been put in the draft. If Kliffy boy was not the coach of Arizona Kyler could have feel quite a bit possibly, still 1st round but not 1st overall no way. Kyler Murray's numbers across the board with the exception of interceptions were in favor of Murray. Again, nothing that players do as college players indicates their success in the NFL. Kyler Murray was exponentially better than Lawrence, and that's not a knock on Lawrence. I'm talking about the QB position how it relates to pro (The position's ultimate form), not college. Nobody disputes Kyler's Heisman win or stats. Trevor simply played pro ready football as a true freshman the likes of which has rarely, if ever? - Been seen before. However, it has to be acknowledged that Clemson's offense has under preformed this season & Trevor has played a role in it. At times this season he's been caught staring down receivers & forcing the ball into coverage. He's payed the price for those mental mistakes. If we're honest, he's had a slight regression - but so has the offense in general. Ultimately, it's nothing major that can't be corrected over the course of a college career. He's still showcased plenty this season to warrant the hype, including his athletic ability. If he takes another step back next season or completely collapses at the end of this season - then, it might be cause for concern. Trevor Lawrence is no exception. The hype train got out of control. He's a damn good prospect, but for what he was going to be 2 years after that.
sammymvpknight
Joe Burrow is a good example that a lot can happen between the time is a college freshman and the time they graduate. Right now, Burrow is the best QB in college football. He went from being a guy who would have undoubtedly been projected as an UDFA his freshman season to a guy who will almost certainly be drafted in the top 10 picks of this year's draft. Some people do not physically mature beyond the time that they are 17-18 years old. I don't know if that's the case for Lawrence, but certainly, I don't think that you can anoint any college QB as the next greatest thing in the NFL. It's a lot of about punches and counter punches. College defensive coordinators have tape on Lawrence and that Clemson offense, and they have a better idea how to defend it. It's going to come down to whether or not Clemson and Lawrence also evolve...while they find new ways to be productive and will Lawrence physically and mental mature.
Small Town Values
After a slow start in 2019, he's looked really good the second half of the season heading into the playoffs.

For his sake I hope he shows up big for the playoffs. Clemson has literally just waltzed into the playoffs not playing a ranked team all season. ACC is mega bad.
BillsGuy82
I see the Washington Redskins being the team to get him. Haskins is garbage and he'll lead them to a crap season next year and get Josh Rosen'd out of Washington I see Cincy and Miami both getting there QB's this draft

Danger
It may be ESPN, but LB Micah Parsons is getting their first team All-American nod. Great to see.
Mox
Super excited for Lawrence v Fields. Trevor is balling again and Fields is a monster. That's going to be an awesome game.
Danger
Definitely think RB Journey Brown from Penn State could be a day 2 or day 3 pick in 2021. Probably runs a 4.38-4.44 at 5'11 206. Has pretty good vision balance and elusiveness. He doesn't really wow you, but he's very effective.
VanS
That 67 yard TD run by Lawrence in the Ohio State was incredible. I knew he was athletic but not that athletic. He will probably be the highest rated QB ever when he comes out given how athletic he is in addition to his passing ability.

He runs fast the same way that Calvin Johnson ran fast, his open field strides are just so long he doesn't look quick kinda.

Shanedorf
from the internet: " If they have to cancel the NCAA football season, there should be an immediate supplemental draft for guys hitting that 3rd year in ‘20 (a la Trevor Lawrence) to get into the NFL " interesting thought to consider Not sure how they would set draft order for any supplemental selections but there would be a Battle Royale involved to get a shot at Lawrence and others
