Can we form the 1st and 2nd all bust team from 2000-2019?

He delivered half of what he should of, he was a bust based on a character level of 0.

Half is being very generous. He was supposed to be his father reborn, he didn't get there all things considered.

OT Robert Gallery
OT Jason Smith
OG Danny Watkins
DE Dion Jordan
DE Aaron Maybin
OLB Vernon Gholston
WR Troy Williamson
WR Charles Rogers
WR Justin Blackmon
WR Mike Williams

Just a shot at TE's, Kellen WInslow @ 6, Bubba Franks @ 14, Rickey Dudley @ 9

Franks would have been a much worse pick there now than he was then. Not a bad player at all just too average to value that high in the current NFL

OT: Greg Robinson (Rams shouldn't do top 5 LTs)

He's actually very solid to good now. At least he was for us for the entirety of a season at LT. Sure he's a bust given that draft selection, but why is he worse than Jason Smith, who was taken higher and lasted in the league for a much shorter amount of time? Did Jason Smith even sign with a second team? Like...for depth even?

Or how about Jonathan Martin? Not only was he softer than Charmin on the field, but decided to make waves off the field by being a salty little ho. And then he decided to make death threats to a bunch of people and got himself arrested with a loaded gun, an axe, and a knife. Screw that guy. He's on the all-bust team.

Dion Jordan  - 3rd over pick had a total of 3 sacks for the team who drafted him... ouch

Danny Watkins - He was not taken until later in round 1 but he was not a professional football player.

  • Warmack started 51 games in his career,  Watkins only 18
    • Warmack started 3 games for a Super Bowl team

Ras-I-Dowling - It is staggering how wrong a genius like Belichick was on him.

Trent Richardson was hot garbage and the yards per carry is why.

Honorable mention:

  • Fournette is also horrendous but he has not taken that slide to 2.9 yards per carry... yet?
    • Dude is averaging 3.5 per carry on every career run excluding that 90 yard pop
    • He also averages 3.5 per carry in the playoffs.
      • He was 28th in yards per carry in 2017
      • He was 35th in yards per carry in the 2017 playoffs.
      • He was 46th in yards per carry in 2018

Honorable mention to #4 overall in 2000 - WR Peter Warrick

  • He stayed healthy enough and got enough targets to get close to 3000 yards and 18 TDs in 6 years but wow, 10.9 per catch for a 4th overall pick is trash.
  • The Bungles won 28 games in 5 years with this guy as a key non-contributor.
  • His career yards per target is 5.9
    • RB Larry Centers was 6.3
    • Troy Williamson was 6.1
    • Justin Blackmon was 7.1
    • The walking corpse of Kevin White is also at 5.9

Tavon Austin at #8 overall is actually worse than Warrick at 5.3 per target (5.1 for St Louis/LA)

Who?

In 2000 Jacksonville selected WR R Jay Soward at #29. He had himself a whole 1 TD that year with a pathetic 4.5 yards per target.

  • Drugs followed and he never played again

2000 Also had a different 1st round bust named Erik Flowers (we now all know to stop picking Flowers)

In 2001 Green Bay selected some guy named Jamal Reynolds at #10 who played in 18 career games.

In 2002 Arizona drafted someone named Wendell Bryant at #12 who played in 28 career games.

In 2003 Houston drafted TE Bennie Joppru at #41 overall. He has as many career NFL receptions as George R R Martin.

  • Another Texas team took Jason Witten 28 picks later

But, "#6 pick in the draft" good?

Bennie Joppru comes to mind simply because he was taken ahead of Jason Witten.

He was #6 in the draft good for two seasons. He was 1st round good for 3-4.

My TE busts would look like this:

TE: Brandon Pettigrew/Richard Quinn/Dustin Keller.

Maybe Jace Amaro too instead of Pettigrew, who was at least a good blocker.

I can get behind Pettigrew...
