Ainge has overvalued draft picks and refused to include them in packages for potential stars but his draft history is pretty mediocre. He has hit on a couple of top 5 picks but other than that he hasn't shown he can find talent later in the draft. Even this year he targeted a bunch of so-so players.

This is always funny. He actually does pretty well late in the draft. Check the draft history.

Boban can shoot doe

But it looks like it hurts him to move. Boban definitely has a polished game for a 7'3 dude but Tacko has got to have him beat in mobility

Yep. The Ainge can’t draft take is one of the dumbest takes people on this site make. Dude has routinely drafted outside of the lottery but nailed a bunch of good role players.

1

2018: Robert Williams (27) - Might be a role player but didn't show much as a rookie.

2017: Jayson Tatum (3) - Good pick

Guerschon Yabusele (16) - Bust, no longer with the team

Ante Zizic (23) - Bust / meh role player but was traded

2015: Terry Rozier (16) - Okay pick, decent backup PG

RJ Hunter (28) - Big time bust, no longer in the league

2014: Marcus Smart (6) - Solid pick, good role player

James Young (17) - Big time bust, no longer in the league

2013: Lucas Nogueira (16) - Big time bust, no longer in the league

2012: Jared Sullinger (21) - Big time bust, no longer in the league

Fab Melo (22) - Big time bust

you are under selling Tatum as a Good pick. No one talked about Tatum as a possible first choice during that draft. Not only did Ainge get Tatum as the best player, he actually got another first to get him.

Tatum is a good player but the jury is still out. Can he be more than a 14-15 ppg guy?

really?? He did that last year on the most dysfunctional team in Boston. He goes from role player to probably first or second option. The man. I expect to average at/or over 20..

reminder. JT just turned 21.

In a few years, his Floor will e a very good player. His ceiling may be top 10.

Is Jared Sullinger considered a bust?  He was a fairly productive player for a few years.  Getting any kind of rotational value in the 20's is solid, imo.  I wouldn't classify him as a bust, at all.  Maybe compared to his college hype, but not for his draft slot.  Anytime you're getting 170+ starts over 4 years from a late 1st, that's a win.

Well Tatum being the best player from that draft isn't true.

It's not like Ainge drafted someone projected to go 10th at #3 and it worked out, similar to Jaylen Brown. Tatum was an easy top 5 prospect in that draft.
