  1. 1. Who wins?

I'm nervous about this game ... Ultimately, as nice as last year's successes were we've yet to see this team beat a team with a winning record. To me, that is the real test for Baker. High leverage, high pressure moments against a winning team, and then we go out and win. The Georgia game where Baker did the "cut throat" symbol to the Georgia bench and then the offense couldn't get it done. For Baker's personality type, when it's going good it's the best ride of all time, but when it's bad there's a lot of egg on face. That's not what we want. Coming out and saying it's going to be "blood bath" then the defense can't back it up.. That's not the defense or Garrett we want. A 1000 GQ stories about this or that... not what we need or want.

We need to stop all the talk and go out and execute.

I want so desperately to believe that this team and Baker have the mental toughness to not only go out and win games like these but big games.

No matter what happens, Bill Walsh was right: "It takes 34-50 starts before you know what you sustainably have at QB." Everyone wanted right Lamar Jackson off; now everyone wants to crown him. Both of those assessments are wrong as we don't know yet.  Last year, everyone wanted to crown Baker certain legend now a lot of people are calling him not good and are jumping off the bandwagon. Both those assessments are wrong as we just don't know what we have yet although it is still very promising.

This Jets game is the rare lose-lose scenario where we gain no real substantial knowledge about this team's make-up from a win, but it would be utter catastrophe for Freddie's new program if we lose. Even if we squeak out a win it's not going to feel all that great.

Well that is just typical knee jerk NFL hot take reactions. It ain't changing, it's the immediate generation and it isn't going anywhere.
