Week 7 (TNF) GDT: Chiefs @ Broncos

BTW, this game should reinforce what @lomaxgrUK has been hammering that we need to evolve with our passing O.   The matchup said we'd kill them in the run game.  But their absolute lack of respect for the pass game allowed KC D to crash the run game hard early, then our absymal pass pro exposed on 2nd/3rd and long.   Our inability to set the tone with a decent pass game made it too easy for a very flawed KC D to just annihilate our O.   Remember that our O only scored the TD because of the 2 key 3rd down penalties (one of which was an absolute gift play by Frank Clark), and the other missed FG was also a result of a terrible play by the S on the Sutton big play, it was well covered.

Doesn't take away from the play of the skill guys, but our OL (both T's especially) and Flacco's weaknesses should be EYE-OPENING for those who think Flacco has some sort of future with our club's path to success.  He absolutely does NOT.

We absolutely should target LT, C so we can move McGovern inside, and a 2nd playmaker WR in our first 4 picks on Days 1-2, because BPA is almost certainly going to be close with the depth of the talent pool.   And then pray Lock is the answer...or hit 2021 hard.

The best news is that so far Elway's committed 5M extra of the Flacco restructure, so the net effect of moving on is only that much.   Not a hard decision.  Flacco isn't our problem - but he's also clearly never going to be our solution.  That should be plain as day after the showings we've seen, even last week.   We just faced  an O that was in far worse shape than us with Mariota at the helm.   We absolutely need better OL play, a young 2nd WR to complement Sutton - but we also need the O to evolve into a unit that can throw the ball well on any down.  Until then, we're dead in the water as a legit contender.

Fix your o-line and he might. He's being betrayed mightily tonight, lol

At least 3 of the sacks (with the fumble 6) his inability to sense / react to pressure cost us as much as bad OL play.

It's not all his fault, not by a longshot.  But he's also not the solution.  Not by a longshot.
