OFFENSE - 3WR/TE/RB (60 pass 40 run)

Passing Game - We are going to spread the ball around looking for plus matchups against OKCs secondary.  If Hill is in single coverage, we are going to target him pretty heavily as we do not think anyone on OKCs roster can handle him one on one.  Hill will run a variety of routes with a lean on getting him the ball in space. If Hill is doubled, Wentz’ first read will be Landry out of the slot, who will likely be in a plus matchup against Desir or Haden.  With Ebron and Parker producing recently, we will not forget them and use them off play action in particular.

Running Game - The three headed running game will be utilized this week again.  With 3 strong runners, we can keep OKCs defense honest and guessing.  We will utilize RPO and play action to freeze the second level of OKCs defense and allow Wentz to find pockets of softness against zone defenses.  We will run plenty at Von Miller, looking to wear him down and limit his pass rush when it counts.

Protection - The offensive right side battle this week should be epic with elite talents battling it out.  Schwartz and Miller have had some epic battles over the years, with Mitch having more success than the rest of the league, allowing only ½ sack over the last 4 meetings.  Regardless, we respect the heck out of Von even though he has had a down year and will chip with Ebron on obvious passing downs. We are going to double Heyward with Mason and Pouncey, looking to nullify his interior pressure, and allowing Wentz to step into his throws.  The left side is less threatening while Matthews and Peat can handle Judon and $heldon. Our RB will read/react for blitzes on passing downs, rolling to the flat as an outlet if none are detected.

DEFENSE - 4-2-5 Nickel Cover 2

With Adam Thielen out, we expect OKC will run multiple personnel formations and we come out in a standard nickel with flexibility to defend any package thrown at us.

Run Defense - Running the ball is not the strength of this offense, as Mixon and Gordon sport horrible YPC averages, while Gore can’t handle a full load in the waning days of his glorious career.  We are hoping OKC wants to go run heavy, as this plays into our strength and see no reason they would have any more success than what they’ve produced IRL. McKinney will focus on cleaning up and delivering punishment.

Pass Defense - This is the strength of OKC and lucky for us, we don’t have to account for Thielen.  We will play sides with Howard and Rhodes, playing physical at the line, redirecting routes and generally frustrating their outside receivers.  Jourdan Lewis draws the slot, while Cunningham has TE read/react duties against single TE formations. WIth Stafford’s strength being intermediate and deep throws (More on this later), we have Simmons and Fitz splitting the deep part of the field allowing for 2 doubles on deep routes.  Against 4 wide and empty backfield looks, Minkah will play up against WR4/TE2 and we will move to a Single High with Simmons playing centerfield.

Pass Rush - Against immobile QBs like Stafford, the objective is to collapse the pocket and in particular create inside pressure so he can’t step up into his throws.  With our CBs deterring deep routes at the line of scrimmage and our safeties providing help over the top, we feel our DLine will have enough time to accomplish this, forcing Stafford into throwaways and tossing it up into double coverage.  We will blitz fairly heavily in this game, looking to get free runs at Stafford against 5 receiver receiver or empty backfield sets. Fitz, Lewis and McKinney will all have designed blitzes to rattle Stafford and look to force a mistake or make a big play.
