Wonder how much influence Kubiak had with drafting Bradbury and Samia last year?   I wonder how much input he'll have in the drafting of offensive linemen in this year's draft...?

If we know the offensive line is the biggest weakness on the team, and it's holding back our offense, surely Kubiak knows that as well.  Does anyone know how involved Kubiak was in Denver's front office?

Given where Bradbury’s, Samoa’s, and Udoh’s strengths were entering the draft, I think it’s safe to say that Kubiak and Dennison were very much involved in the drafting of those three players.

Not sure how involved Kubiak was with drafting in Denver, but when he was the Head Coach of the Texans...

2006: Charles Spencer (T - 3), Eric Winston (T - 3)
2007: Brandon Frye (T - 5), Kasey Studdard (G - 6)
2008: Duane Brown (T - 1)
2009: Antoine Caldwell (C - 3)
2010: Shelley Smith (G - 6)
2011: Derek Newton (T - 7)
2012: Brandon Brooks (G - 3), Ben Jones (C - 4), Nick Mondek (T - 6)
2013: Brennan Williams (T - 3), David Quessenberry (T - 6)

that might explain why the Texans had no OL.......or maybe those are good players?

Brandon Brooks has been great in Philly. Winston had a solid career, but wasn’t he derailed by injuries? Duane Brown was good for awhile. Not too familiar with the rest of them.

Didn't Quessenberry suffer with cancer when he first was drafted? I remember he coming back and playing pretty well after being at deaths edge.

Kubiak was the right hire for OC. Hopefully he can stay awhile and not be the next Oc to leave to take a HC job.

The best possible outcome we could have hoped for.  Not only a level of continuity that we really needed, but COMPETENT continuity.  Klint might be a great coach one day, but that time hasn't come yet.  He's learning from one of the best though.

Happy to have Gary Kubiak in charge of the offense this season.

I’m optimistic that the offense will be better with Kubiak as the OC than the offense with Stefanski as OC. The OL needs to get better for the offense to pickup the slack of a declining defense.

Zimmer just needs to mature as a coach and realize you can control the clock through the passing game. Running Cook to 3 yards per carry doesn’t sustain drives. Trusting Thielen and Diggs to move the chains is the better option.

Except running Cook to 4.5 ypc (his actual statistical average) does.

There is no better option than running the ball to set up the pass because it wears defenses out. You just have to have right personnel to make it work. Cook was one of the best backs in the league and this offense would do well to bolster the offensive line because it didn't show up versus the 49ers.

Not since November. As the season went along and the competition improved, his average was well below 4.5. He ran wild on some bad teams early on and had that great game in GB week 2, but I don’t think you can point to his performance (and the OL) down the stretch to justify the commitment to the run game. It was a liability at the end of the day that seemed to force less than ideal third down situations.

If you initially wanted to state that he was struggling late in the season to be a dominant back that would have been an acceptable argument.

His drop-off in production has less to do with his effort or skill-level. He was playing with a shoulder injury for a few games in December before sitting the last 2. Teams were game planning around the run game.

The system works so long as defenses continue to play the run -- 3ypc or 4ypc. It allows Cousins to bootleg, and this is when he's at his best. There are some teams like the 49ers that can snuff that out period. The line needs to win at the point of attack.

What's apparent to me, is when Cousins had time, or when there were holes for Cook to run through, the offense was very good, if not great.
