Fun fact I did not know until right now: Tuitt is younger than Hargrave.

*sorry forgot to add the fun-er fact: Tuitt had .5 less sacks than Hargrave last year playing 5.5 games.

Disagree. At least not as the Steelers are concerned. Tuitt is one of the best 3-4 DEs in the League and Hargrave didn't fit.

This would be in an alternate universe where Tuitt stays healthy, right? Because by his own admission he had a down year in 2018, and then missed over half of last season. Tore his pectoral in 2017. So far Tuitt has been paid mostly for potential (he is not a top 10 interior DL). Hargrave was misused by this team. Not because they play a 3-4, but because the coaching staff refused to use him as an interior pass rusher in their packages to the extent that they should have - particularly in his firsts two seasons. If not for Tuitt's injuries, they probably never would have given him significant snaps in that role.

Another fun fact - in 2018, Hargrave had 6.5 sacks to Tuitt's 5.5 despite playing about 250 fewer snaps. And the main point remains that Tuitt hasn't been able to put together that level of play for an extended period of time, but he's paid like he has.

Prior to last season, Tuitt missed 10 games in 5 years.  Granted you can't just disregard last Season but it isn't a pattern.  2 games a year from a DL is not that big a deal to me.  With that said, if another Season-ending injury occurs again early this year I might agree with you.

Oh good! Let’s keep playing the fun stat game! Tuitt also had 20 QB hits to Hargraves 8 in 2018 (the down year you keep mentioning). He had even more than Heywards 18 and did it in two less games. Hargrave actually only has 2 more QB hits in his 4 year career than Tuitt had in one 14 game season (his “mediocre” season). How did it fair in the 2019 season? Hargrave 6 QB hits....Tuitt in 5.5 games? Seven.

I love Hargrave, but Tuitt is the more talented player and produces at a higher level more consistently. The scary part about that, like you mentioned, is that he doesn’t seem to have that consistency of his elite level play like Heyward... but his age 26 season looked like he was tapping into that.
