Having salary cap space simply means you don’t have good enough players worth paying. No one suggests keeping cap space for cap space's sake. This is a dumb strawman argument. The people talking about the importance of watching the cap WANT to be using it all on good players. They're arguing to not use it stupidly just for the sake of claiming we spent all our money. And Philly is basically the best team in the league at using their cap space well and managing it. Sooooooo.....

Cap space is going to be an issue. We need baker to turn elite so we can move some high priced WRs.

Sooooooo.... So are you just going to ignore the other 2 I mentioned? You also ignored the Rams as well. Rams are supposed to be the poster child of bad cap space management and they’re a playoff contender every year.

Then there’s the major problem of owners losing money.

The Chiefs will win because they have a bonafide QB and coach in place. Philly has a legit coach and QB in place. New Orleans has the same combination. The Rams have the coach but the QB is questionable, and that's why they're trending downward because they mismanaged their cap space. You're arguing from 100% emotion because you want us to start winning, but I'm glad our front office isn't looking through the same lens. We want to build our foundation (GM, coach, QB) and once that's in place then we can be more active with spending that cap space. We have a lot of young talent on this team and it's CERTAINLY more than talented enough to be a playoff team. Let's make that happen first. What’s the difference between what the Browns have done and what Paul Dolan has done and will do?
candyman93
Kareem Hunt and OBJ both looked great. We ran a lot of double TE formations today. Edited August 14, 2020 by candyman93

What’s the difference between what the Browns have done and what Paul Dolan has done and will do? Are you trolling? The Indians were in the World Series just 4 years ago and were competing at a high level, even being favored to make deep playoff runs (with disappointing losses). They already have Tito in place and have had numerous talented pitchers. They SHOULD have had a bigger budget. The Browns haven't had more than 7 wins in 13 years. No QB or coach worth investing heavily into. They should be careful with spending until the foundation is set and we look like we're playoff contenders - at which point we should spend more. What pieces do they need exactly? What type of foundation justifies spending?

I hope we ran a lot of double TE formations. That’s the bases of the offense but yes, Hunt did look good. candyman93
Njoku just had a baby. Might be one of the reasons he wanted to delay being traded for now.
