Thinking out loud, how come we didn't use Josh Cribbs more as a runningback?

Cause I don’t think he was that great running like a traditional back. Wildcat for sure but that is coming as more so of a trick. I just don’t think he was able to cut it as a back. He couldn’t with stand behind able to properly run it between the tackles. Kinda the same issues with Duke and when he was never viewed as a guy who could touch it 20x a game. Also he was deemed to valuable as a special team player. His skill set made him an amazing special team player. Where the skill set as a RB was nothing special at all. Think that is why he never had success as a WR either.

He averaged over 5ypc for his career, its bold to say he didn't have talent.

He had a hell of a game as Pitt, carried us to a win as an rb.

In 2013 he would have done more for us than the corpse Willis mcgahee.

He should have seen more time as a 3rd down back at least. Especially the years we were devoid of talent at runningback.

I don’t care what he says. Of course he’s going to say the right thing. He wants to keep a job.

He also knows his future isn’t as a starter in the league. He has to know if he wants to stay on a roster in the future. He has to be willing to be a leader in the locker room and help younger guys. He was signed for a 1yr deal. So if he wants brought back he needs to show he offers more than being a below avg safety on the field.

Guys with his talent aren’t signed if they aren’t willing to mentor and be solid locker room guys.

He’s a stopgap until the guy they drafted to replace him is ready to do so. He knows it, we know it, Delpit knows it, the whole damned world knows it.
