WheatieMan
Highly likely he gets injured first few weeks or gets benched by week 8 latest. He's got @ Seahawks and @ Chiefs first four weeks. Then home games against Denver (a team with Von Miller that will always be in his head) and 49ers home. That's probably two home losses before they have to decide if it's Stidham or a banged up Cam at that point going @ Buffalo week 7 to decide the division. Schedule is awful. We've been in the middle of a pandemic where teams couldn't physically examine players and Cam has been hurt. Not only that, but we still aren't even sure we're going to have a season this year. Why sign a guy to a big contract until you know more if you are a GM? Cam probably wants to be assured of being a starter and wants starter money. I don't blame him to a great extent, but I also don't blame teams at all for holding off for a while.
childofpudding
Could end up being an incredible move if he is healthy. Patriots were already reportedly revamping their offense for a more mobile Stidham so Cam could fit in there nicely. I'd imagine that Newton is very motivated to show people that he's not washed up for good. Edited June 29, 2020 by childofpudding

ThatJaxxenGuy
I strongly dislike the Pats, but honestly this is kind of cool. As an aside - Cam for 1 year 7.5 mil Vs. Nick Foles for a 4th and 20 mil per year, Chicago what are you doing? Edited June 29, 2020 by ThatJaxxenGuy

Denver offsides on two missed Panther FG's, the egregious non call on the Cotchery catch. All of those impacted the game more than one play where Cam didn't dive on the ball that he wasn't going to recover anyway. The league wanted Cam to pay the price for his confidence and let Manning ride off into the sunset.
SilverNBlackFan
Would he be the first African American QB to start in team history? Oh wait no forgot about Jacoby Brisett Edited June 29, 2020 by SilverNBlackFan

Join Raiders fans in saying that refs and league have it out for them as well. Anyone else want to pile on more conspiracy theories? I'm sure there's plenty. Not a conspiracy, just blatantly obvious when you watch the game. He's head hunted multiple times and again in the rematch in 16. Cam has not been treated fairly by the league or the media.
