I thought so at first, but honestly it all depends on Thompson. He seems like a boom or bust prospect to me. The picks were to be expected, and Berglund and Sobotka are kinda just solid, yet overpaid role players. I think it's a pretty fair trade for both sides. This FA class is so very weak, and they had it all tied up into JT. Once they lost him, they were screwed. I could see the merit in punting the FA period to a degree, but they certainly aren't hurting on space and probably want to make it look like they are trying. Plus, Lou doesn't care.
