The kicker who got in trouble is from my hometown. I was announcing his high school game when he was a sophomore, If I remember correctly he made a 54-yard field goal which is just absurd for a Soph (Sucks all around for everyone) Edited August 12, 2023 by TakeTheBallDeep

"The Michigan infractions case is related to impermissible on and off-campus recruiting during the COVID-19 dead period and impermissible coaching activities -- not a cheeseburger," said Derrick Crawford, the NCAA vice president of hearing operations, in reference to a common over-simplification of the case in some media circles that distilled it to buying burgers. "It is not uncommon for the COI to seek clarification on key facts prior to accepting." The statement continued, "the COI may also reject an NR [negotiated resolution] if it determines that the agreement is not in the best interests of the Association or the penalties are not reasonable. If the involved parties cannot resolve a case through the negotiated resolution process, it may proceed to a hearing, but the committee believes cooperation is the best avenue to quickly resolve issues." Tom Mars, Harbaugh's attorney, also issued a statement Saturday, saying, "Pursuant to the NCAA's internal operating procedures, and under threat of penalties, Michigan, the involved coaches, and their lawyers are prohibited from uttering a word about this ongoing case. Yet the NCAA can issue a public statement putting its spin on the case?" The NCAA is investigating Michigan for alleged recruiting violations that occurred during the COVID-19 dead period. Harbaugh is facing a potential Level I violation for failing to cooperate with NCAA enforcement staff, sources told ESPN last month. Additionally, the program faces four Level II violations, which are less significant in scope.
NateDawg
Nobody should cooperate with the NCAA. It’s time these conferences focus more on leaving it entirely.

In general they get a burr up their arse when they take interest in something and a university doesn’t take interest in cooperating. Nobody takes them seriously. Those tattoos were an entirely legitimate scandal, a shining example of amateur athletic rule enforcement, and my opinion is in no way related to the Big 10 standings from those seasons. Harbaugh will miss home games against East Carolina, UNLV and Bowling Green before making his return to the sideline for Michigan's Big Ten opener Sept. 23 against Rutgers. In July, he had seemingly been set for a negotiated resolution and a four-game suspension to begin the season, but the NCAA's infractions committee rejected the agreement earlier this month, sources told ESPN's Pete Thamel.
