showtime
I think two things need to happen. They need a guy who can run the offense and create offense for himself and others. Giannis is essentially a big man and their guard play is weak in that department. Chris Paul fits the bill nicely and he's probably a realistic trade target as well. In addition, Giannis needs to continue to improve. In the postseason, the game slows down a ton. He needs to work on posting up and shooting from the outside. This is the second straight year a team defense has said, "No, you're not going to just dominate in the paint, so we're cutting it off and swarming you" and he really can't do anything about it. Pastor Dillon
A team would have to pay an Anthony Davis type premium for me to trade Giannis. They are closer to a championship next year than they will be for 10 years after trading him. Just go for it.

I get that, but you just sign a MLE guy and hopefully get some vet minimums that are willing to ring chase, and you go for it again. The purpose of trading a big time star is to rebuild. Unless someone offers you a rebuilding package that will keep you a playoff team or give you high draft picks, just play it out. Small market teams are at a disadvantage. The new CBA needs to address this and make it more even when signing free agents.
