Test results. People really need to understand it doesn’t matter if you are asymptomatic or not. You can still spread it. That’s the danger.

But people also need to understand that PCR tests are incredibly unreliable and were never intended for diagnostic use. They don't even need a whole, living virus to test positive just a portion of a single RNA strand which could be weeks old. There's also the false positive rate - studies have shown the test responds to other viruses (and indeed, tiny fractions of other viruses) - which brings them even further into question. Then there's the lack of consistent cycle runs - some labs are running over 35 cycles, which renders the test meaningless.

In short the test is not fit for purpose, and using it as the baseline diagnostic method is one of greatest mistakes of this entire situation.

The NBPA hated the bubble, but they did it because they knew that's what it took to play the season as safely as possible. If the NFLPA doesn't agree to a bubble, then this is going to continue to happen and the season will be a nightmare.

The logistics of a half the NBA doing a bubble for the playoffs and the entire NFL doing a bubble for the entire season are drastically different and incomparable.

Yeah, you're not wrong. Much easier to find a city with the needed facilities for a basketball season than football season. Just hoping there's a compromise that can be found.

So can someone explain to me how the league can even consider moving this game to Monday with a positive test result a day or two before hand when the Titans/Steelers game could not be? If the risk is that further players on the Titans may come up positive, then the same applies to both the Chiefs and Pats here.

Because reasons.

In all reality with the Titans/Steelers part of it was the rapid spread through the team, part is just not urgency to make a decision.  This one has a little more urgency, and I think it's more a matter of time for this one to move like the Steelers/Titans than if it will move.

They're just delaying the inevitable cancellation.

The league's decisions make no sense. We will have no idea how widespread this may or may not be in either KC or NE's locker room for several days at best.

Also, moving the game really isn't an option unless the league pushes the playoffs back. Which is what they should have done with Tennessee and Pittsburgh. It was moronic - just incredibly shortsighted - to think that this was going to be a one off case. And as I argued already, they set a bad precedent. It's not going to be possible to move most games the way they did the Steelers/Titans. They got lucky with the schedule once.

There's no way this game can be played if the Steelers/Titans couldn't be.

It's only going to take 1 positive player test Sun/Mon/Tues AM to cancel the game.

Given the 3-day window between exposure and false negative rate, sure seems like TuesNF is a pipe dream.
