THEY ARE NOT GOING TO LET US RUN THE FOOTBALL. We have a good offensive line and if you cant throw the ball youll never be able to run. THE ISSUE IS THE QB. we faced the number 1 defense last week and torched them in passing in the first half cause they werent expecting baker to come out and throw. Look how many throws he threw in the games before the colts. Exactly. Thats the issue. Teams arent going to let you run anymore especially one with a front 7 like that. forget about it. Well, we've also been without our best run blocker in Teller and Chubb. And as good as Hunt is, he's not Nick Chubb, who is the best pure running RB in the league. His absence hurts tremendously. They know what we are going to do. if you cant do one aspect youre not going to be successful. we've been successful because weve used both to compliment each other and when one gets taken away and The steelers know to take away the run cause Mayfield is Cheeks, you are going to lose. Onizuka Posted October 18, 2020 Share Posted October 18, 2020 Someone needs to tell Baker that it's ok to throw the ball away and FFS to stop patting/clutching the ball so much. A lot of his turnovers/mistakes are either because he is staring his receiver(s) down as he pats/clutches the ball. Or, even worst, when he rolls out and tries to make a play but stares at the direction he intends to throw it, letting all the defenders know on that side of the field, which has to led to interceptions (a few dropped ones as well). We are much improved from last season but we aren't ready to compete with Balt/Pitt yet, maybe when we play them again as we should have Chubb back but Baker really needs to take drastic steps in learning to read defenses to give our offense a chance when the run game gets staggered by the opposing defense.
