ny92mike
How many restructures and extensions are done on average per team prior to the FA? I think it's worth looking into.
ny92mike
https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/extensions/2022/ this is for the entire year 159 extensions For this current year there have been 6, worth tracking to see what it jumps up to prior to FA. ny92mike
Found a better link that provides dates. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/transactions/signed-extension/ https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/transactions/restructure/ You guys still cool with not allowing any resigning prior to hitting the open market? RedGold
For TCM. (Without doing any research). I would say 3 Restructures/Extensions - No affect to FA Bidding 4 Restruc/Extension - 4 1st Round Bids / 3 Reserve 5 Restruc/Extension - 3 1st Round Bids / 2 Reserve

Yes, players who will be free agents deserve the chance to see what's on offer from other teams. 10 minutes ago, RedGold said: For TCM. (Without doing any research). I ask because if they did say 3 early restructures prior to the first round and then another 2 after would it be the 2nd round of FA bidding that it would take effect and if so for how long? ny92mike
I really do like the idea of certain things costing Bid slots because after all those are just as important as draft picks in this thing.

ny92mike
Just now, squire12 said: I think that would be up for discussion. yeah... Bid slots are so valuable. Just shooting ideas based off this suggestion. But rather than limit the number of bids what about the dollar amount limit that can be offered. Still allows them to sign players but closer to the vet min range. Obviously for this to apply I need to figure out what the hell I did wrong with the APY values this year. ny92mike
formula related taking the bid itself would be the simplest way.
bcb1213
Generally if a team has a to do that many restructures to get below the cap, then they won't be bidding weeks one on a lot of dude's anyhow. Just a thought
JetsandI
Oh... It looks like 30 percent will be in effect if new contract runs past the CBA's expiration date. @downundermike @ny92mike Okay, there is my opinion. I fully support 30 pct rule for TCMD's new contract. Whatever it is, contract extension or re-signing or free agent signing because we run the one year mock. We can't afford to allow GMs to abuse this practice and kill the entire fun. Like @bcb1213 hinted, balance is a key to entertain some fun playing the mock. If we want to play fair to each GM or most of them, I think TCMD should allow one contract with big jump from Y1 to Y2. and the rest of them follow 30 pct rule (# of contracts will be decided when time is right)
