Is the edge rusher a possible 1st round pick?

Kinda odd for Tombert to be there without an obvious 1st round but supposedly the recently new hire as asst. secondary coach was there for the 2 CBs

Azeez Ojulari  is a 1st rounder.

Who is a pure 9 tech or 4-3 OLB  I do not think he can be lined up over a tackle.  He is not an 3-4 OLB in the NFL.

The kids not even 21 yet...you don't think he's going to put on 10-15 lbs?

Not to mention he was basically 250lbs at his pro day and put up 28 reps with those long arms

I don't know , but I know I'd draft him if he's there in the 1st

Watch him vs Bama. Leatherwood, who will most likely be a RT in the NFL, basically erases him.  He gets a couple of good rushes when he can move laterally but for the most part was handled.  Vs the run he was totally erased.  He is better coached than Dupree was and can drop into zone coverage.  But if you ask him to take on a OT ( especially one that will get drafted), he is handled.  Like Dupree, he is high effort and non-stop motor.  I just see too much trouble when asked to line up over a good OT.

I am more often wrong than right on these players but I will stick to this one.  he would be a better fit as a 4-3 OLB.  His only other good option is 9 tech.

The way you describe him, he’s a pure pass rush specialist. I’d take a guy like that in the 2nd or 3rd and try to coach him into being more well rounded. I probably don’t take that guy in the 1st, though. I’d take a guy like Bud, who had the size and athleticism to do a lot of things, and teach him how to do the one thing, rush the passer, as opposed to the guy you have to teach a lot of things. Sorry about the extremely long run on sentence.

He has all the skills that would make he a very good SAM in a 4-3 with an occasional Blitz.  Think Vonn Miller rather than TJ Watt.

but if someone sees potential to put on 10-15 lbs and teaches him how to use his hands, maybe.  I just do not see it when he goes up against good OTs
