It’s going to cost Matt Ruhle his job. He seems dumb enough to go the Matt Nagy route and hope some rookie saves him. Still have Detroit as an outside shot. Feel like Campbell and obviously Dorsey would like him competing against Goff.
candyman93
If Detroit trades for Baker and somehow gets Aidan Hutchinson, I’m predicting they make the playoffs as a wildcard.

Aside from Rodgers there division is weak too. Good bet. They could have a decent wr and Hutchinson and Baker.
brownie man
I think we’re keeping Baker through the start of training camp and possibly the beginning of the season. I really think we’re going to wait for the first QB to drop. Wait till a team gets truly desperate.

I think a team could become interested if they miss out on their guy in the draft (who tf that would be I have no clue…). After the draft teams are dealing ‘23 picks which will become a lot less meaningful to GM’s who are on the hot seat this season. I could see those guys not wanting to come off picks for this week but being fine with moving something for next year to maybe try to save their job. MWil23
I think Baker gets moved after R1 and we pickup a 2023 pick for him after eating a good portion of his salary. If I’m Matt Rhule, I’m not getting fired because I gave Ben McAdoo the corpse of Sam Darnold, nor will the Panthers pony up $30+ million for 2 underachieving Top 3 picks on their 5th year rookie first round deal. I think Carolina, ATL, and Seattle all have possibilities as long as we eat some money.
NateDawg
I would rather have a 2023 pick then about anything else. Best case scenario we are able to move on from this as soon as possible but before camp. We are going to have enough drama with the whole Watson situation. If you combine that with the Baker drama here, yikes.
ReggieCamp
Just a couple data points here: 2 dark horses who could trade for Baker. I had no idea the 5th year option for Murray was $30 million.
Kiwibrown
Rewatching some games from 2020. The baltimore thriller in Cleveland. Baker is brilliant, when he sees the throw and he is in rhythm, its beautiful, he throws dots. At times couldnt place the ball better. Other times he misses easy throws, there were a couple of throws with a little pressure and he rockets the ball. The problem is the reciever is 10 yards away. One ball to Jano could easily have been floated to him, it was an awkward angel for the catch even on a soft throw. Instead he got fire on the ball. He also ran the ball too much, a ton of 1 yard or 2 yard runs. If he has a lane it's good no problem, if he has to run wide its usually terrible. Also throws a Deshone Kizer like int to a linebacker. Dude was literally right there. Across the board too many small mistakes and too many big mistakes in between his brilliant throws.
sdrawkcab321
I think our best move might be to go into the season with him and wait for someone’s qb to go down. We would have a lot more leverage and would probably get a much better pick than what we could get now. And not have to pay part of his salary. NateDawg
Baker is never going to show up here. There’s no way his ego will let himself come to camp in Cleveland with his tail tucked between his legs as the obvious back up, waiting to be traded. I don’t even think the organization wants him there. They need to find a way to get rid of him. But there are no suitors right now. What a crazy off-season. Cant they just keep him on the roster and away from the facilities? Allow him to use the staff/workouts and things like that but just nothing 'on field'? Its a distraction. Did you see the Mike Silver tweet this morning? Basically saying that teams are going to blackball the Browns forcing them to cut Baker and eat the entire salary because they all hate the fact that Watson got that yuge contract. I have a hard time believing if no team wants Baker, that Berry would pay 18M to cut Baker and watch him go to PIT. If they have to keep him as a healthy scratch the entire year who cares. I would rather do that and get a comp pick over paying him to not be here. Edited April 27, 2022 by AkronsWitness

There’s no rush man he’s gonna go somewhere even if we kept him throughout the season we’ll get a comp pick for him keep your composure he’s gonna just stay home. But some QB will go down and Bakers value will do a 180. Don’t stress yourself. It’ll be better in the long term for him to go somewhere that really wants him anyway even if it’s out of of necessity
