Mox
Seems like a decent move for both teams.
sdrawkcab321
So stevens is exposing himself as a bad GM early. That’s good.
Leader
Spotrac - Kemba Walker to OKC 2021-22: $36M 2022-23: $37.6M player option Al Horford to BOS 2021-22: $27M 2022-23: $26.5M (1/2 GTD) Moses Brown to BOS 2 yrs, $3.5M non-g'teed Andrew Brandt - NBA trades are rarely about talent; more about offloading contracts, usually with added assets (picks) to take on the financial weight. Horford is a plus on Kemba simply for being a lot less expensive. They got a non-guaranteed contract back They made a 2025 second into a 2023 second and all they had to give up was #16 with a roster full of those type of guys (Pritchet, Carson Edwards, Romeo Langford, Robert Williams, Aaron Nesmith, Grant Williams)
Dingo18287
Pretty surprising. Hornets we’re crushed for letting him go a couple of years ago, but looks like it was the right move.

Are they even going to have cap space after that deal? That’s just gonna be 10M off the luxury tax.

Horford's contract is infinitely better and they can get out of it next year only half guaranteed. If you don't think thats worth a 16th overall pick on a roster where he would have ZERO playing time then idk what to tell you.

He was playing well in OKC before he got hurt.
MookieMonstah
Its funny watching people who have done zero research into Horfords contract or don't understand how the salary cap works bash this trade lolol
seminoles1
Maybe the extra rest will also help Horford going into next season. I expect him to be overpaid, but a solid contributor to Boston next season. OKC hoping for another veteran reclamation project that turns into more 1sts. First Paul, then Horford, maybe Kemba is next. OKC has some serious ammo to trade up in this draft now.

He can still play. I don't know if the Thunder keep Kemba though. They may trade him to NY or DAL or some other team. Moses Brown flashed in a few games late in the season. Kind of intrigued with him.
Deadpulse
Also, hoping and praying the play Horford at the 4. This is my ideal line-up for 2021-22 as the roster currently stands Marcus Smart Jaylen Brown Jayson Tatum Al Horford Robert Williams
