Dome
He hasn’t been suspended for PEDs before, so hopefully this is the 4-game variety? Not sure how the rules have changed.
RuskieTitan
Well that certainly sheds a different light on his career season last year. Turns out he was nothing but a cheater. Shame.

TheKillerNacho
I'm sure we'll get clarification from him soon that it was "only Adderall".
sammymvpknight
Onyemata is a stud...so this is a big loss. They've already loss Malcom Brown, Sheldon Rankins, and Trey Hendrickson from the front four.
jsthomp2007
He needs more PEDs because I have never heard of this guy

DAVID ONYEMATA, NEW ORLEANS SAINTS The Saints bet on Onyemata last offseason to the tune of a three-year, $27 million contract. The early returns indicate that bet paid off for the team. Onyemata bounced back from a down 2019 season (55.3 overall grade) to post an 88.8 grade in 2020. He was the 12th-most valuable interior defender in the league, according to PFF WAR. The Saints will need returning players, such as Onyemata, Cameron Jordan and Marcus Davenport, to continue to step up following the loss of several key players along the defensive line in free agency. https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-interior-defender-rankings-entering-2021-nfl-season
TheRealMcCoy
6 game suspension. He’s eligible to return after the week 7 game against the Seahawks since their bye falls on week 6.
DreamKid
Payton Turner has inside/outside rush versatility. Bright side of this suspension could be it yielding Turner some additional and highly valuable development reps on the interior. Other than that though, losing a plus DI is always going to sting.
Mid Iowa
It seems the Saints have always managed to find a way to mount up a really good run defense. This is a big blow, but we'll see if some new blood can step up. The real question mark is - can the secondary buy enough time to make even a great front 4 look good. Shy Tuttle is an ok player, but who esle is going to play inside now?

I’d guess the saints bring in a guy like Atkins or Short for a quick patch-job.
