So UNLESS Cobb took a pay cut we didn't get him for under 3 million. Those additional dollars are pushed into future years, which means we keep kicking the can down the road. .. Yes, that would be my take as well. $3M for this year; but $2 deferred.

packfanfb
Fast forward to NFCCG: Rodgers hits Cobb in the 4th quarter for the game-winning TD. Promptly looks up at the press box towards Gute/Murphy:

But it is a public admission of concession. Gutey's press conference could also be an admission that Amari was a target to appease Rodgers too. He said Rodgers wanted the slot upgraded right after the season. Edited July 29, 2021 by Arthur Penske
deltarich87
So GB then drafted a slot WR in the 3rd round of the draft in response, but that wasn't good enough for Rodgers apparently

deltarich87
If Rodgers had control of the roster, GB would have an average age of 33 while being one of the slowest teams in the league

Old Guy
This is pretty much the Rodgers/Adams/Cobb triangle.
incognito_man
I mean, if Aaron didn't restructure we couldn't afford Cobb regardless. So it's not really a concession if Aaron's like "I'll restructure if you use that money on Cobb". It's like a free (for now) player for Gute. That...doesn't seem like any type of concession to me.
