TRADE DEADLINE UPDATE

I have so many draft picks already there's no reason to make any moves.  I'm only 3-3 at the deadline which is neither ideal or terrible. Need my guys to pick it up during the 2nd half of the season.

On a positive note I had two successful dev trait challenges already this season.  CB Jeff Okudah is now a Superstar, and also rookie WR David Darby upgraded to Superstar (apparently he was only a Star dev when drafted).

I was ... sort of right!

He wasn't initially a Superstar but he became one in his rookie season so close enough!

Might be time to use some of that stockpiled draft capital to move up for an elite CB or edge rusher, IF there is one worth pursuing.

Or you can go the greatest show on turf route and get a high profile RB, yet another WR, or a vertical threat at TE.

So the top RB isn't super fast, but he looks versatile as a receiving option.  Still wish it would generate a top end power back but looks like waiting for that to happen is a waste of time.

Several of the top WRs are quite good.  Another first round WR though?

That TE is ok, not amazing.

Some of the pass rushers look decent.

Kinda sucks to see the Eagles stumble backwards in Stearn's 3rd season. Wonder what's up with that.

He threw for 4,467 yards, 33 TDs and 12 INTs. Only 63% completion % though (Hancock's was 71%). Eagles were a bottom 5 team in rushing yards. 20th in defensive yards allowed. Turnover differential was positive.  Idk nothing was abysmal just pretty mediocre, maybe the harder schedule got to them.

Will probably draft tomorrow night.  I'm thinking about either trading up for ROLB Woodard or staying put and taking LE Sanborn. Then probably taking a RB with the other HB. I have picks 21, 23 & 35.  My other 2nd is 53, I supposed I could move up from that one too.

Just of note, DT Shields, RE McGowan, & LE Osgood get most of the Dline reps during sims. Backup DE Reveron gets quite a few snaps, he comes in on nickel packages when Osgood plays inside at DT. I'd say the cpu probably sims nickel 70% of the time. The other 30% of the time DT Dishman plays 2nd DT. So there are a lot more snaps available for another DE than another DT.  Even switching to a 3-4, the cpu's still going to sim 70% nickel set with 4 down lineman.

If Jarrick Steeter falls, he looks like he could be a great slot guy and KR/PR.  Sure, it'd be a 3rd WR, but it would fit and give you special teams value.

Both Walls and Haynes show some promise at RB with good lateral agility.  Walls a little closer to the power type you want but still not a power guy.  I'd feel better about snagging one of those at 35 more so than 21/23.  I think i'd actually prefer Forsett at 35 than either of those two at 21/23.

At 6'6" 300 lbs Sanborn is much more a DT than a real LE, unless you are talking about a 3-4 DE.  Seems like a poor mans Shields.

I think Josh Sherrod is at least a Star dev at TE.  He dominated the combine at the position and did it at 6'5" 260 lbs so he might give you some blocking as well.

If you have any picks in the 50-65 range, I'd say your best options are between Andrew Davis and maybe Shaun Humphrey, but that D man coverage isn't pretty.

John Van Buren looks like a guy to target in rd 4 or 5

Josh Blaylock and his elite throw power look like a good day 3 guy to take as a long term backup who can maybe run a bit as well.

If you use a FB at all, a 7th rd flier on Rick Hunt looks intriguing. See if he can live up to his legendary father Mike.

Rookie WR David Darby was drafted as Star dev, but upgraded all the way to X Factor in 1 season. I now have 2 of the best WRs in the league.

Told you, man.  Great WR's fuel each other this year through the scenario engine.

I've also seen great vet qbs give a ton of opportunity to young WR's through it, too. In my Bengals' franchise, Burrow is a 35-36 year old Xfactor, and gives dev trait scenarios to whoever is my young 3rd receiver every year, for the past 3 years.  It's a little op, but it's a cool feature to have.
