By sucking so bad with OBJ he created the situation where Beckham's pops threw that grenade. Browns situation is like the Bucs with Jameis, the Rams with Goff or the Titans with Mariota. Former high round QB is highly inconsistent and more or less holding the team back. It's not clear cut because Mayfield has carried guys at times but overall he's not doing it. Each of those teams opted for a vet that had more left and the team took off.
