Titans RB Derrick Henry suffers potential season-ending foot injury

The Ravens have a slightly-used Ty'Son Williams.

I would chalk this up to an overreaction if it happens. Williams is good, but the Titans could possibly reset with a vet presence along with their current stable of RBs.

Right now, it's Ryan Tannehill's time to shine - and with Williams being a liability in pass protection, ceding snaps to him could be disasterous to Ryan's health.

As an AJ Brown fantasy owner, this pleases me.

As someone who wants to see a team vastly overpay for a 3rd string RB, it does not please me.

Understand, I really do.

Maybe it's just me, but I think this might be the opening D'Onta Foreman needed to finally get his career started. He was supposed to be the future at RB for the Texans, but then an Achilles tear and Bill O'Brien happened.

Foreman has good size and has (had) surprising speed - he also had incredible vision from what I remember, he was able to see a lane before it opened up and hit it. I don't know if those traits are still there four years removed from injury, but who knows?

I'll be putting a flyer out on him in fantasy, FTR.

Guess we’ll really find out about the whole “RBs don’t matter” argument now.

And right on queue too, people all over the football universe race to start saying "Ryan Tannehill is a mediocre QB, the only thing holding up that offense was Derrick Henry!" (not saying this is you, I've already seen it numerous other places)

I love Henry just as much as any fan, especially Titans fans. It’s just kinda funny seeing a lot of people write off the team with this news. Knowing Vrabel, he’ll use it to motivate the team. As great as King Henry is, the team isn’t the Tennessee Derrick Henry’s.

The rest of the season is a prime chance for Tannehill to prove he’s a legit good QB and not just a product of Henry’s greatness. We’ll see how he handles it.

I agree with Foreman becoming something, but the age old trope of RB with a past achilles injury is a concern. Do we have some more modern examples of players who've come back to shine after that?

foreman looked pretty good on limited touches last year, to the extent that i was surprised we didn’t bring him back. i know we were working him out last week, so we’ll see i guess.
