Bridgewater: Bare minimum. It's most likely his last hurrah as a starter. Trubisky: Closer to the minimum. It's a chance to highlight your skills as a starter, not a theoretical rebuilding value on the bench behind a good stater. Winston: The least likely IMO. He already did his 2 year rebuild. It's time to cash in.....just hopefully not with us.
cjfollett
Seems to me Trubisky might have the inside track with the connection between McDermott and Tomlin? Just a thought.
MOSteelers56
My wishlist of those QBs is: Trubisky Bridgewater Jameis

Also if you thought Ben checked down and stayed outside the middle of the field you should see Teddy Two Gloves passing chart:

True, that should realistically help the price point. He is probably (?) better than Mason and the here’s should be very little, if any, competitor for him as starter. Throw a 1 year million dollar deal out there and take it or sit in a bench the remainder of your career (which, is still nice…). But I would prefer him around a mil than Brissett at $5M or Winston at $10M+

He'd have to compete with Mason and I would rather Mason wins that battle and think it wouldn't even be close.

Im not sure I’d say Mason is better, but I’m honestly more intrigued in Haskins regardless. I’d let him rip and see what you have. But I’m avoiding paying a price for mediocre at all costs. It’s two conflicting ideas IMO. To have a mediocre QB you need a perfect team to really compete. In order to make a perfect team, you need the capital to do it. Trading two potential starters for a one year QB who won’t make a difference isn’t worth it.

If I’m going bridge QB, I want a guy that can maybe pull a rabbit out of his hat and surprise you...Trubisky and Winston have that %5 chance of having a career year. Plus, with neither Rudolph or Haskins signed past 22, I’d think they sign a vet to a 2 year deal.
warfelg
Decided to run through some "mid-level" FA's at various positions to throw some names out there: RB - Phillip Lindsay can be used to bring back some speed to the backfield. Rashaad Penny has that early round pedigree they like. Boston Scott is an interesting piece but a RFA. I feel like Peyton Barber has been that long standing solid backup who can spot start if needed but isn't that guy. WR - Will Fuller has the speed needed, is a 1st rounder, and won't cost too much. Cedrick Wilson isn't a top tier guy and might be a little more expensive, but isn't really bringing anything different. Greg Ward has been a solid player. OL - I'm grouping this all together. Austin Corbett would be an interesting name at OG. I'm going to throw a non-FA name at you but a name on the market at OT - Andre Dillard is on the block from Philly. DL - Sounds like Tuitt is going to announce his retirement soon. Akiem Hicks is a rumor happening so much I think that it's basically a done deal that he's going to come here. Derek Barnett is a walking penalty but I think used as a pass rushing specialist interior guy would work. Adam Gotsis is a decent. EDGE - Isaac Rochell is a decent backup type guy. Elandon Roberts might be a guy who wants to follow Flores. ILB - Anthony Walker is out there. Jayon Brown is a guy I would beg them to go after. Maybe Dont'a Hightower would want to be with Flores again. LVE is another 1st round guy we have had interest in and could come cheap. CB - I don't see how you can't get away without spending at this position on a bigger name guy but some potentially cheaper guys: Xavier Rhodes, Desmond King, PJ Williams, Donte Jackson, Anthony Averett. S - Keanu Neal, Duron Harmon, Brandon King. Ugh, it kinda sucks out there.
Blitzburgh
I just can’t help but think how bad the offense was with Rudolph in 2019. He couldn’t sling the ball any better than a washed up Big Ben. Now that could have been by design bc they didn’t trust him, but I don’t think he has NFL arms strength. Give me Haskins over Rudolph and Bridgewater for that reason alone. Id ride with Trubisky or Winston this year. I only draft a QB if one falls to the 2nd this year.
