Lost his DC

lost , what, 80% of his OL that allows him to bully ball

and lost the only 2 pash rushers he has had.

it’s not gonna go as well up there next year.

It's why he was ready to bail, let's be real. Problem was, I think he expected to much power, (Belicheck type control),  Gruden type money and no one was hearing it.

So let's pretend it was his decision to return to Michigan not those refusing to hiring him.

Huh? 33 out of 44 of the two-deep are returning. The offense is bringing back a lot of talent at all positions and will have their #1 receiver and returner, Ronnie Bell, coming back after being out basically all of last year. The real worry for Michigan fans is what is going to happen with the dline. Losing Hutch and Ojabo was a given, but losing Chris Hinton was somewhat surprising.

I can see you don’t know much about UM

oline isn’t losing much, just vastardis and steuber. We have most of the Oline returning and added the Rimingtin trophy runner up at center

pass rusher is somewhat of a question mark, but Harrell looked good when he was on the field and Mcgregor is basically a hutch in training. DT should be fine with mazi smith and one of the younger guys, probably rayshaun Benny

Macdonald was a helluva DC but he’s not irreplaceable. Elston will be a massive upgrade from Nua as far as Dline coaching and especially recruiting is concerned.

the secondary should be better than it was last year, even with losing Dax hill/brad Hawkins

offense is stacked with talent.

UM will be fine.

Kind of surprised. Once there was a publicly announced interview I figured he was jumping to the NFL. Glad he isn’t though.

Harbaugh wants to return to the NFL. The talent disparity he faced against Georgia was greater than any NFL game. That startled him and prompted him to look around.

Lots of these coaches are grudgingly figuring that out, that the college game is not close to what they remembered from their playing days, or conventional wisdom even today. Unless you are one of the few programs pulling in ultra elite high 4 star and 5 star recruits every year, you basically have no chance at the national title unless somehow those supercharged rosters all have an off year parallel to your uptick year. Lotsa luck with that.

Fans still think of Michigan talent level as equivalent to Alabama or Georgia or Ohio State. The coach gets ridiculed if it doesn't play out that way. Meanwhile it was nearly a 10 point gap in the final Sagarin ratings between Georgia at 1 and Michigan at 4. Every year it's like that. We're talking two touchdowns or more power rating gap between 1 and 10. There's no chance you'll face that type of deficit in the NFL. It is the reason Brian Kelly and Lincoln Riley are changing college jobs and Jim Harbaugh is trying to get back to NFL tranquility where he's not dramatically outmanned from opening kickoff of a semifinal game.

I guarantee Harbaugh would have taken an NFL job if he thought the situation was stable with playoff caliber quarterback. He probably got tempted by Cousins and spent a lot of time evaluating that aspect. The gap between the absolute top NFL quarterbacks to Kirk Cousins is lower than Alabama/Georgia manpower level to Michigan.

Just look at this year's recruiting realities: Alabama 4 recruits who were 5 star and 18 at 4 star. Georgia had 5 recruits rated 5 star and 15 at 4 star. Ohio State had 2 and 17. Michigan has 1 recruit at 5 stars and 9 with 4 stars. Harbaugh can't possibly overcome that type of grind deficit but incomparably ignorant fans expect him to:

I honestly have no idea what that is. I just found the gif to be applicable lol. I try not to overuse the most common gifs like the Jennifer Lawrence one that would've fit perfectly

I'm sad now.

Honest question. For as big of a name that Jim Harbaugh is why is he consistently losing out on these top 5 & 4 star rated high school recruits to the likes of Ohio State, Bama, Georgia, etc.

You think by now he would have more pull to be able to lure some of these prospects...so what gives ?

Maybe just maybe he doesn't have as great of a reputation as some of us would like to believe?
