If this team doesn't get Jaire and Adams done soon, they're done spending. A gaping hole at TE, #3 EDGE and #3 CB, along with pretty decent sized holes at #2 WR and RT doesn't exactly have me inspired. We ended last year as the clear #1 team in the NFC in talent. Think we're pretty clearly behind Tampa and LAR right now.  Figured this would be boom, boom, boom with Rodgers, Adams, Jaire. They're all arguably the best at their position and you've had the entire season to figure this out. Bit concerning we were willing to go this route without being almost there and these other extensions.

The Rodgers, Adams and Jaire extensions were always going to be the hard ones.  Adams and Jaire want to be paid as the top of their position and have guaranteed values for 2022 that they can sit on and use as leverage in the negotiation process.  the March 16th deadline for the start of the league year is a GB cap compliance issue, not an Adams/jaire issue.

Cobb cut, Amos extension gets the team into cap compliance.   That buys some time on the Adams and Jaire extension, but still limits the ability to re-sign UFA or add outside pieces.

Well that’s the problem, isn’t it? Eventually reaching deals and clearing cap space doesn’t help them much if it’s after there are no meaningful pieces left on the market to spend it on. Esp for an all-in team that is trying to win in 2022.

correct.  So that puts the leverage in the favor of Adams and Jaire.    each of them have their deal for 2022 and maximizing as much on this contract as they can is the right move for them.

Deadlines lead to deals.   March 16th at 400 PM EST is the next big deadline

I have a feeling they will strike some deals tomorrow.  One of these two will get inked.

It feels like every year Packers fans forget the two truths about basically every Packers free agency period since Reggie White came over:

- They're not usually very active in the initial couple of waves except to resign guys.
- They take the comp pick stuff seriously and are more interested in cut guys than true free agents.

Gotta sense that an extension is coming today for Jaire or Adams. Packers still need to clear some space not just to get above 0 but create some room for more additions. They can still do a few restructures here and there but the biggest relief is coming from 23 and especially 17.

If they cannot come to an agreement then someone is going to get cut! I wonder who's next?

If we are going all in here are some weapons available

Plenty of TE options and I would be suprised we don't go this way to address this need, some cheap options:
Tyler Conklin - 593 yards and 3TDs - PFF 66.7
Bring back Jared Cook - 564 yards 4TDs - PFF 61.9
Gerald Everett - 478 yards and 4TDs - PFF 63.5
Ricky Seals Jones - 271 yards and 2TDs - PFF 62.3 ( he was coming on strong at the end of last season)
Kyle Rudolph - 257 yards and 1TD  - PFF 66.5
Hayden Hurst - 221 yards and 3TDs - PFF 55.3
Maxx Williams - 193 yards and 1TD- PFF 77.9
OJ Howard - 135 yards and 1TD - PFF 49.2
Blake Jarwin - 96 ayrds and 2TDs - PFF 59
Eric Ebron - Didn't do much last season 558 yards and 5 TDs in 2020

I like Bobby but with the injury and the cost it might just not be worth it

Wide recievers are much slimmer pickings, very few good ones which I think will then mean they will be over priced and well above what we can afford, apart from that not much else really:

Aj Green - 848 Yards and 3TD - PFF69.2
*Will Fuller - 879 Yards and 8TD - PFF86.2 (*2020 stats)
*Ju Ju - 839 Yards and 1TD - PFF68.2 (*2020 stats)
Jarvis Landry - 570 Yards and 2TD - PFF66.3
Byron Pringle - 568 Yards and 5TD - PFF66.5
Keenan Cole - 449 Yards and 1TD - PFF61.3
Jaminson Crowder - 447 Yards and 2TD - PFF64.9
Allen Robinson - 410 Yards and 1TD - PFF66.9
Sammy Watkins - 394 Yards and 1TD - PFF66.3
Adam humphries - 383 Yards and 0TD - PFF58.1
TY Hilton - 331 Yards and 3TD - PFF70.1
James Washington - 285 Yards and 2TD - PFF50.5
Rashard Higgins - 275 Yards and 1TD - PFF54.7
Damarcus Robinson - 264 Yards and 3TD - PFF51.1
Auden Tate - 39 Yards and 1TD - PFF69.6 (interesting guy, buried on the depth chart, big dude)

I think getting Green in Green Bay could be okay if the deal was not silly, he'll be 34 this year though but did well last year.

Out of all the TEs OJ Howard pops off the list for me. He's still young, big and athletic however his lack of production so far in his NFL career would make him an extremely good low risk FA signing who can add depth to the TE room.

As for WR, Juju makes so much sense. Again he's still young and once upon a time was uber productive so we know he is capable of playing at that level. He will cost next to nothing and would be an excellent #2 to Adams.

It is those two which makes alot of sense from a talent/value/age/depth perspective. Attitude on the other hand...... a change of scenery can sometimes help solve this.

What is the over under that Kevin King is back again? Definitely not as CB 3, but cheap *** depth?

Yeah, I'd been wondering the same.  Rasul, King, and Sullivan were variably-high usage guys.  Jaire can replace one of them.  Obviously Rasul was top priority of those three.  But *IF* he doesn't work, some cash and attention certainly will go towards Sullivan, King, or somebody from outside.
