Even though our safeties are very good, that is no excuse for a first-round pick not to see the field in at least a rotational fashion. Theo Jackson was a 6th-round pick the same year Cine was drafted and is getting playing time over him. People need to stop using Cine's injury as an excuse. Drafting a 1st round pick that is only average or below. Fine. Happens to everyone. Even if he wasn't, he wouldn't be the only GM to swing and miss in the first round. It isn't all that uncommon. Projecting college players to the NFL is tough. IMO, it's better to swing hard in case you hit it and occasionally miss than chopping singles leaving no chance for a home run. This offseason may be the time, however, that the GM needs to show he is willing to cut his losses instead of gifting Cine a roster spot simply because he was drafted high. KAM ought to make Cine earn the roster spot. I hope Cine responds be earning it even though he has given no reason to have faith that he will.
