Works for most sites, not sure about the Trib. 1) If you ever send me to a porn site indirectly again you'll hear from my attorney 2) I'm kidding. That is ******* cool! I had no idea such a thing existed 3) The Trib article is nothing earth shattering. It's a bunch of legal stuff I don't understand but I guess some texts were uncovered and in some they admit there's a middle ground to get it all ironed out

If they bought and built where the White Sox are considering to build a new stadium with the stadium overlooking the skyline somehow that would be chef’s kiss. I still think Arlington Heights is the better location. It's going to get interesting...
dll2000
Remember Chicago is still in Cook County. The real problem with building a stadium in Cook county is commercial tax rate is 25%. They already screwed Bears by not taxing it as vacant land. That was were they were stupid. That is the chump change. That is where they scared the Bears and woke them up to them being hammered in future. Bears want a special property tax deal AND half the money to build their playhouses on property. Right now they have neither. The other issue for govt. and economy is commercial property is cratering because millions of people discovered they can work from home during Covid. So all this property tax money Arlington Heights school district is imagining or arguing they will be getting absent the Bears building on that property is a fantasy. It behooves everyone to come to a deal where Bears don’t pay the full the tax rate. 25% of billions on that land is insane. Google wouldn’t pay it. Amazon wouldn’t. Any huge investor. No one would at that price. Is it fair that smaller businesses (like mine) have to pay that rate and giant companies don’t? No. But it is reality. School teachers need to accept that tens of millions in taxes or possibly a 100 million+ in taxes is better than Bears leaving that land vacant and maybe even abandoning it if they can’t sell it. They aren’t going to be facing tons more students from stadium. No one is living there. Except coaches because they work 80 hours a week. As far as public paying for half the stadium or all stuff next to it. I am against that. They can pay for their own buildings.

I can’t imagine it was 25%…

Their full time job is to cover the bears and it feels like most do bare minimum. Mostly copying each other. The combined efforts of people on this site do just as much.
