They are bad, but I'm not even sure it would be a bottom-3 pass defense this season, much less historically awful. For comparison, despite being one of the least thrown-against teams in the league (7th in pass attempts by the opposition), the Panthers are 21st in yards allowed and 31st in passing TDs allowed. I haven't looked at all of the metrics (yards per play, yards/game, td's/game, etc.), but we've had one good game (BUF) and 4 bad games (KC, CIN, DAL, LVR).
