Slightly concerned.

Last 2 Niner drafts have been pretty bad if you look at production.
Purdry in the last round last year.
Elijah Mitchell 6th round the year before that. (Trey Lance TBD).
Kinlaw and Ajuk in the 1st the year before that.

Some nice big hits but a lot of misses and non contributors.
Hopefully the hits outweigh the non contributions.

The question is how many of the picks were Shanahan, Lynch, ect vs Carthon? If you go off what the writer who covers the 49ers from The Athletic say, Carthon had a big voice and say in the later round guys.

And the later rounds during his tenure produce some truly high quality players. Kittle, Hufanga, Greenlaw, Purdy, Mitchell, Jauan Jennings just to name a few.

After signing Dillard do you think OT is still in play at #11?

Absolutely.  So far they've signed, and this is something that Vrabel seems to have held as a value for a while, players who can cover more than one position.  Dillard could very well be our left guard.

And it's not like Nicholas Petit-Frere played so well that he can't be replaced if the best player is a tackle.  It's really hard for me to see even Jaxson Smith-Njigba being rated more highly as a player than either Paris Johnson or Broderick Jones, but the scouting department may feel differently.

Short answer, yes.  A tackle is very much still in play, and still the best pick if one of the top two are there IMO.

I don’t reason being we’re attacking our needs via FA, I think we’re going to take the BPA according to our board or trade down & I honestly don’t see Johnson as the 11 best prospect in the draft. Reminds me of Russell Okung
