But I can't see it being the right move. And you get to keep doing this until he is gone. There should be no coming back now. The Packers let another team talk to their starting QB .. that's an obvious sign a team doesn't want you back. Then Murphy talks about him in the past tense. Rodgers is out of here one way or another.

This is pretty much what it boils down to for me. Love at QB would have me much more invested in the upcoming season vs another season of Rodgers. Maybe they thought they owed it to him to see how he felt after knowing he had options. Maybe I'm preparing myself for the slim chance he still returns. lol

I can't ever see it with JL right away. But I wouldn't bet a penny on it even with stupid off that AR could do it. I've never been so apathetic to something that is pretty important to this franchise on the moment. I think I just have like Aaron Rodgers fatigue or some ****. I had a feeling though we might here some more serious stuff about what my happen by today.
Nick_gb
I'm just going to outright say it. Aaron Rodgers should have been traded last year. There was no reason at that point you don't take the haul that Denver gave up to get Russell Wilson and you can't tell me the haul wouldn't have been better for Green Bay, because Wilson was their fallback plan not THE plan. I do think it's time for Aaron Rodgers to move on to another team and for us to explore what Jordan Love has and I sure tf hope he lights up this league and gives us our 3rd HOF QB in a row. However, I also appreciate what Aaron Rodgers brought to this team. Wish him the best of luck in NY but my focus will be on rooting for Jordan Love winning a Super Bowl in Green Bay well before it will be rooting for Aaron to win one in NY. I just don't think I need to stoop to the level of bashing Aaron Rodgers as a person or player to be at that point. That's just me.

I shared this stance for awhile, but there's no doubt Jordan Love benefitted immensely from this year on the bench with Tom Clements.

R T
Rodgers returns to GB and the Packers trade Love to the Raiders for the 7th overall pick. Gutes words, 'Jordan needs to play' is stuck in my head. If by chance Rodgers returns I think they move Love and Mr. A will be tap dancing all over this forum. I don't pay much attention to other teams, but from what I was told the answer is..... yes! Basically the Jets are a year ahead of the Packers with rebuilding receiver talent. One thing to keep in mind when looking at the Jets receiving stats is the abysmal QB play they had to endure. It would be like judging Packers' receivers if Love was the full time QB- the horror. Again, from what I was told: Jets receivers WR1- Garret Wilson... A pure vertical stud. A better rookie than both Doubs & Watson. Could be the best WR in the NFL with Rodgers throwing to him. WR2- Corey Davis... A more talented Lazard. Could be a Pro Bowler with Rodgers. WR3- Elijah Moore... A super talented and tough slot receiver. A faster prime Cobb. TE1- Tyler Conklin... A solid starting TE. TE2- CJ Uzomah... A solid vertical TE. Really hurt by the terrible QB play I guess there are some other prospects on the roster, and the Jets would probably add a significant receiver with Rodgers. I doubt it has a lot to do with how they view him as a QB. Agree with this. I think he can still get it done mechanically. I question his heart and fortitude at this stage. It feels like he's got one foot in a legacy grave and the other on an NFL playing field. It feels like he's gone soft.

While true, he would probably have grown even more being the starter. And we would have had more draft picks for Rodgers, and more cap space. Not trading him last year hurts. We'll see how much soon enough. Hopefully everything Love does in his career makes this an irrelevant footnote in the annals.

Future potential sells, it's why some folks here are obsessed with the draft picks, and people keep the going to a casino. Best seasons are when you have something new with potential, cuz it hasn't become the norm yet... you don't have frustrations built over over time with a new shiny object.
