Opportunity cost.

Big fan of Mercedes, but who do you lose on your roster to keep him? And is there a net plus in 2023? Or 2024?

Just carry two RBs. No need for Carter, Johnson, and Robinson with the Rodgers offense being installed.

No fanbase should know better than ours, your last final 1-2 TE's on a 53 are usually useless. Big Dog has an amazing niche and is A+ as far as locker room guy goes. He's like the style of player every NBA team strives to acquire at the deadline for a stretch run. Fills his role in an elite manner and is a high end locker room guy. The Jets should pursue him. Lazard too. Cobb is really the only nepo guy.

They should give them big contracts, I totally agree!

Hoping it's Mims or Moore and not Davis

I'd love Moore, he'd be what they thought Amari Rodgers was going to be.   Just wonder if the MLFs brother incident would impact him being traded to GB.

Damien Woody tweeted that looking at Rodg's list none of those players are better than what is on the Jets roster now.

Not sure about that if you include OBJ and he's healthy but why do the Jets think these players will give Rodg a better shot at success when they didn't for us?

Must be contract details and/or compensation holding up the final wet ink sig and an announcement.  They've got their new prom queen you'd think they'd want to walk it around....

So because they transfer the packers starting 2022 offense into new New York jets green uniforms they think it will have different results?

This is hilarious.

Jets should give GB it’s first… they don’t need it. The starting offense is already set.

Marcedes comes at the cost of a player like Sternberger, or one of those extra WRs, DBs, or LBs that teams seem to keep just in case he puts it all together.  He has been signing 1 year 2 million dollar contracts with us.  That really isn't keeping you out of the FA market either.

But this doesn’t make sense… if these guys are Rodgers’ boys why wouldn’t they sign? And why wouldn’t the Jets do this favor.

like I’m assuming Rodgers was like I’ll agree to the deal if you get these guys. Like the fact that all this is up in the air tells me nothing is really done. Like Brady went to TB before Gronk. It was just an know fact he would go too.

Same should be the case with Lazard and Cobb… yet it’s not.

Jets may try to lowball Lazard and if he signs elsewhere, Rodgers calls off the trade.  Lazard needs to get the best deal for him.  Not appease Rodgers

A pure Rodgers move would be to get Lazard, Cobb and Lewis signed with NY and announce his retirement.

This is what I'm rooting for now because it's the funniest possible ending. Also would be a great example of Rodgers being a good team mate, helping his washed buddies get one last pay day. That's a good friend right there

If the Jets have to recruit a bunch of Rodgers' buddies to get him to play for them it tells me Rodgers is rather lukewarm to going there.  His reluctance to play in NY is probably why this deal hasn't been finalized just yet and may never be.  🤔

It makes me think he might be lukewarm about playing at all.  I'm wondering if he can't play in Green Bay, maybe he is just as satisfied to call it a career.  At the same time, maybe he is also thinking "alright, I guess I can come back for another year if I get a huge pay day AND can do a solid for some of my buds on my way out."
