Does the Rodgers trade REALLY solve NYJ's QB problem?

Considering their goal is the Super Bowl? Isn't there a chance that Rodgers, well, just isn't the guy he was anymore? That the 2022 season was as much on him as his supporting cast? That the Jets are banking on the impossible: that the Rodgers they're getting is the elite, MVP-caliber Aaron Rodgers? That they've been sold a lemon by a Green Bay team who knew exactly what they were doing? That the promised land will remain an impossible dream?

Or do they just need him to be above average?

I'll make the same argument I made for Brady after 2019. 85% of this forum (not an exaggeration) said Brady had declined and was a Fringe Top 10 guy now. I said no way. He didn't decline physically at all. The velocity on his arm is the same. The physical stuff is all the same. It's the same with Rodgers. There is no physical decline. Rodgers IMO is a Top 5 QB along the lines of Burrow, Mahomes, Allen, and whoever else you want to put in there. He does solve the Jets QB issues, for two seasons. I do NOT think he is playing longer than two years.

Rodgers floor is a Fringe Top 10 QB season. Which is leaps and bounds better than Zach Wilson or Mike White. Rodgers ceiling is still Top 3 in the league.

No one was putting Brady in their Top 5 list what so ever. Similar with Rodgers now. I bet most would put him 7-9 area when it's just not accurate. He should be 3-5.

Not a single person (except Bayraider) thought that the greatest QB to ever play in the NFL would have success in 2020 coming off just 11 straight 10+ win seasons and only 3 Super Bowl appearances in the 4 seasons prior to making the move to Tampa Bay. It just wasn't fathomable at the time that he would somehow be successful in Tampa Bay, but Bayraider proved us all wrong on that one!

Yeah because everyone was posting Brady in their Top 5 QB's... no, vast majority was 9-11 range. And MANY, more than not, were saying Brady had declined when he had not declined what so ever. Just like Rodgers hasn't.

Let’s not be victims of hyperbole here

Only exactly 15% of us had that level of foresight

Nobody could possibly think Rodgers can still a top tier QB with only 2 MVP awards in the past 3 years. Nobody thinks that him not winning an MVP last year could have been due to surrounding factors such as inexperienced WR's, and a thumb injury.
