That doesn't mean they are winning the super bowl though, and not winning the super bowl doesn't mean they didn't solve their QB problem. Short term, it's solved It always cracks me up when people say a team/signing/trade is a failure if they don't win the Super Bowl and uses that as some sort of justification for saying "a move failed". Obviously the goal of every team is to win the Super Bowl yet there are 31 teams that fail to do so every year. Does that mean every move those teams made was a failure? Or is it only a failure when it conveniently fits a posters narrative? In other words, I'm all for making moves that put your team in a better place for success even if the end result doesn't always end with a Super Bowl win. For this specific move, I don't see a possible way (unless Rodgers gets hurt) that the Jets aren't a much better team with him under center instead of guys like Wilson/White/Flacco. Yeah, it would only make sense if there was some massive investment made. Don’t see that being the case here.

And MANY, more than not, were saying Brady had declined when he had not declined what so ever. Just like Rodgers hasn't. GET EM!

minutemancl
Rodgers is not Brady; Brady is the exception to aging, not the rule. Rodgers doesn't have it anymore. He's still better than Zach Wilson, because most NFL QBs are. Does it solve their QB problem? In the short term, yeah. They've got a legitimate starter at QB.
Mr Bad Example
2 hours ago, BayRaider said: It's the same with Rodgers. There is no physical decline. Difference between Rodgers and Brady is that Brady is so dedicated in the offseason (and during the season) it borders on mentally ill. Rodgers, eh - maybe he shows up and does the work, probably not. Rodgers COULD stop his decline at just a sliver, but last season his footwork was sloppy, he was hesitant in the pocket, and his mechanics are off, meaning that instead of doubling down and making sure his fundamentals are right to minimize loss of arm strength, it's become apparent (his arm is still good but clearly not at its peak). His mobility is less than it was. All that said, he's still capable of playing at high level. Not sure if he's capable of doing the work to reach that capability. But the Jets last season didn't NEED Godgers, they just needed someone to make the easy throws, execute the offense, and not do anything stupid. Rodgers is easily capable of all 3 of those, if he decides to be.

GangGreen420
It solves it until he’s gone. Hoping he has a huge chip on his shoulder
El Ramster
Anything less than 12 wins is a disaster. Kinda sucks how he’s been wanting to retire the last 2 years. Really wonder how much juice he has left. All or nothing. Jets should be on the phone trying to get a huge pass rusher via trade. You gotta go all in this year.

WheatieMan
Realistically. The Jets need to win the division and a playoff game or it's a complete bust. A tough WC game as a 5@4 or a divisional game. Obviously, the season is still a failure, but not a completely objective failure. Get to the SB and lose a close game like the Eagles? Well earned retirement... unless they lose to the Packers or Cowboys...
