Manny/Patrick
This seems like the year the 49ers should win, only player lost this year is their all pro SS, best defense and offense he’s ever had, blown out their 2 biggest opps and with all due respect to the Lions, I don’t see them faring much better. Do you think they win this year or would you take anyone other team? We will get a potential SB preview in 2 weeks when Baltimore plays at SF. EDIT: Top 3 NFC teams or the field Edited December 10, 2023 by Manny/Patrick

Can you say confidently if you put any NFC team there they would win. You think Mahomes or Lamar can beat the defense consistently?

Hate to say it but I could see Dallas doing it as well. On any given day Parsons can be a game wrecker. In the AFC, Baltimore has the kind of defense that could give us fits. The sky is falling in Buffalo but they can bounce back, and Miami's offense is most definitely a problem

The QBs that beat them (PJ Walker [Watson also hurt], Kirk Cousins, Joe Burrow) all got hurt for the year. Whoever knocks 49ers out will be cursed. Also would be funny if the team that knocked them out was the Packers in a bottom seed the year after moving on from Rodgers given the history of the 49ers beating Rodgers in the playoffs.

Don't really have to believe confidently that someone else would beat them. Only has to happen once. If this was the NBA or MLB and some team had to beat them in a best of 7, sure, maybe you've got a point. But they've got a 3 game span to avoid something going wrong, and that's tough to do even if you're dramatically better than everyone else, which I don't really think they are anyway. They've lost one out of four games already, after all. But this is the same as why we never see teams go undefeated. It just doesn't take much to make things go awry. One injury, a weird fumble, a badly timed missed field goal. Every week survivor pools get destroyed despite people only really picking what seems like the safest bets.

Seasons have ebbs and flows; SF's season is the epitome of this. We don't know what their injury report will look like or on what trajectories their players will be. We won't be able to account for the atypical stuff that happens during the SF's playoff game(s). Same goes for all teams in the field. As that MILF said, you always take the field. Tugboat
The field is the easy pick here. Nobody else seems as complete, but all it takes is a fluky bounce here, unlucky injury there, and it's somebody else. Any given Sunday. That's why they play the games. Etc. Also, the Niners have still already managed to lose plenty of games this year. They're not some undefeated Juggernaut.
49ersfan
Niners can beat any team in the league....they can also lose to any team in the league 2022 49ers had a good season. Made it to the NFCCG. They also lost to the Bears & Broncos that season
