  • Good athlete, can be a plus as a runner
  • Lacks creativity as a thrower
  • High pressure to sack %
  • Off-field headache, entitled personality

Quinn Ewers - Texas

  • Live arm - can throw with velocity
  • Can generate big plays out of structure
  • Flashes mobility above what he shows on a regular basis
  • Poor decision-maker
  • Accuracy below average

Jalen Milroe - Alabama

  • Serious gas as a runner
  • Elite arm talent to throw off platform and variety of arm angles
  • Tough and competitive
  • Poor lower mechanics
  • Varying, inconsistent release
  • Misses layup throws

Cam Ward - Miami

  • Good arm talent
  • Can improvise, a creative thrower

  • Older prospect at 24 when declares

Jaxson Dart - Ole Miss

  • Accurate thrower, always in rhythm

  • High variance in accuracy
  • Doesn't appear to read full field
  • Poor mechanics under center
  • History of ankle and foot injuries - recovering from second surgery could slow transition to ND

Others to dig into:

  • Jalon Daniels - Kansas
  • Noah Fifita - Arizona

How are these guys not others to look into?  As for Jaxson Dart, honestly to me he has to show way more than he has to be even draftable.  Currently I am not super high on that guy and in that offense he has struggled despite a lot of talent around him, and he is very dependent on running the scrambling around, tough sure but needs to show he can be a much better passer.  Will be interesting how he does this year with a much improved defense and added WRs plus a very experienced returning OL.

Kaidon Salter Liberty RS JR
Cameron Rising Utah RS
KJ Jefferson UCF RS
Brady Cook Missouri RS
Dillon Gabriel Oregon RS
Grayson McCall NC State RS
Will Howard Ohio State RS
Hudson Card Purdue RS
TJ Finley Western Kentucky RS
Tyler Van Dyke Wisconsin RS
Donovan Smith Houston RS
Will Rogers Washington RS
Tyler Shough Louisville RS
Max Johnson UNC RS
Kyle McCord Syracuse
Hank Bachmeier Wake Forest RS
Seth Henigan Memphis
Gerry Bohanon BYU RS

If one wants big time upside and size at the position Donovan Smith and TJ Finley are two who are promising, and Shough as well if he can finally stay healthy which I doubt.  Will Howard will be interesting in that new offense at Ohio State but he is still a very run first QB but has great size for the spot and should be amazing with all of those weapons around him.

These guys I do not see declared unless they are wildly improved from last year.

Drew Allar Penn State JR
Cade Klubnik Clemson JR
Garrett Nussmeier LSU RS JR

Not sure it would be wise for either of these guys to declare but with big years who knows.  Murphy could do well at Duke and is such a impressive athlete for his size, Fifita has the talent but still could use some work.

Noah Fifita Arizona RS SOPH
Maalik Murphy Duke RS SOPH

Sanders, Beck, and Milroe would be my bets to be the top QBs when all is said and done. Ewers will be up there because he has his fans for some reason.

Klubnik is my sleeper.

I think Grayson McCall should be on the list but he will end up as a 3rd rounder due to LOC.  He has the arm the size and the accuracy.

I watched him 2 years ago.  Coastal Carolina's offense was mostly short passes so his comp% is amazingly high but he would still though some( not many) deep balls and crossers with accuracy and zip.  He will be in the ACC this season so i have high hopes that he will shine.

I was a big fan of McCall in 2022.  2023 McCall made me think he just doesn't have the tools to be an NFL passer, but it's not gonna take much to get me back on his hype train.  I didn't know he transferred to NC State until I saw this post.  That's great news for evaluating him.

I gotta watch his left tackle anyway.  Belton was one of my favorite sleepers in the tackle class last year, and I think he's going to take a big step forward this next season.  NC State has a great strength and conditioning program, so if he can clean up his footwork a little bit, I think he can be a legit right tackle.

I still like Klubnik though.  He wasn't great last year, but if you watch him in 22, he made big strides last year, and made some more during the season with Clemson imo.  I expect he's gonna come out a much better QB than he was last year, and Clemson always has a lot of talent, so he'll be able to show off whatever assets he does have.  I think he's a safer bet to have taken the next step in his development than someone like Milroe, even if Milroe definitely has more raw athletic upside.  Former 5 star, physically gifted, all the right measurements, should be a high pick if he comes out.

I think Ewers needs to take a step forward this year.  He definitely took a step forward last year, but I want to see that elite tape break out.

He had the shoulder injury that he tried to play through.  I think he can do well although I do not know how NC St is for talent.

Breakout candidate of the year right here.

Howard has definitely been run-first, which seems to be a theme at KSU going back a ways.

That said, I don't see Ohio St bringing in QBs they're not convinced can throw. Mix in the improved weapons and Chip Kelly at OC and you've got a guy who is going to be put in arguably one of the best positions to succeed- if he can indeed be a good passer.

No offense to KSU, but Howard used the portal to upgrade everything about his surroundings and his own platform for recognition. If he works out at all for Ohio St, his name is going to start generating some buzz fairly quickly.

I think he's going to be a super intriguing prospect. We use the term "boom or bust" a lot, but it fits here so well. If he booms, it'll probably be atomic. If he busts, it'll be very obvious that he just doesn't have "it".
