Clowns are right from time to time.

I expect more from a mod.

NFL fans have only seen Love play for a year, and non-GB fans have probably only seen him play a handful of games.  It's totally fair to question signing Love to this deal.

This contract is simply the cost of doing business for teams that believe they have a franchise QB.  MLF and the Packers FO have been watching Love for the past 4 years, and they obviously believe he is the guy.  With that being the case, signing Love to this contract is an easy decision.  Time will tell how well it works out, but it is the obvious path forward.

Yeah...that's kind of the thing. Is it a risky move? Yes. No doubt. But the market sort of dictates they make this move.

The eye test says Love is legitimate and is only going to continue his level of play moving forward, so it makes sense for Green Bay to lock him up long-term before he gets even more expensive. Now - could Love be a one-hit wonder? Most definitely. But the odds are in their favor.

Also - you have to hate Green Bay. They go from Favre, to Rodgers, to Love. Hopefully Love turns out to be less of a ******.

As a GB fan who grew up watching the mid-70's Packers, I am jealous of Packers fans who didn't start watching until after Favre arrived.

Doesn’t matter or change my statement. Encouraging trash posting and trolling with insults is part of the problem. Downplaying your role in it is worse and flatly confirmation what most of us Cleveland fans have experienced for 20+ years on this forum, which is that it’s okay to belittle and troll Cleveland because it’s funny, whereas it’s not for others.

No not really. MLB contracts are stupid. NBA contracts are stupid. Soccer contracts over seas, are stupid. They are all guaranteed!

Yep. My team is still paying Stephen Strasburg and will do so for two more years lol. Hasn’t pitched in 4 years.

Good for Love. Seems like a good guy and he worked hard to get to this point. As a Washington fan who’s team couldn’t find a QB if the owners life depended on it, I’m very jealous of Green Bay.

Ten game blocks to match Love's last 10 games, 21/3 108 rating. Cousins last 10 games of 2015; 23/3 119 rating, for instance.

One of Jordan Love's armpit hairs has more arm talent than Goff and Cousins.

We're talking about an elite sample size of games here, with the kind of arm talent that got a kid from Utah State who threw 20 TDs and 17 picks in his final year drafted in round 1. Love has the rare core strength + flexibility to generate the torque required to throw accurate passes from any platform and arm slot, and got to a point in November last year where he was doing it incredibly accurately too.

Contracts aren't given for your prior season's stats, they're a projection of future value. I can't think of a QB with elite talent mixed with a stretch of elite production who ended up going on to fail. Maybe RGIII but Washington only has themselves to blame for that.

There's minimal worry here from Green Bay's perspective, we've got our QB1 for the next decade.
